From Drab to Fab: How To Do It
-
Plastic cabinets—out of here! It was replaced with beautiful solid maple cabinetry from Thomasville.
-
No more plastic inserts either. Real glass panes show off fine china or colorful dishes.
-
The fake marble counters were removed, in favor of a custom-made Corian countertop.
-
Old, run-down appliances aren't just ugly—they can be a hazard as well. The kitchen is now decked out with shiny new GE stainless steel Profile appliances.
-
Outdated and unattractive linoleum tile was pulled up and replaced with gorgeous hardwood flooring. It's pretty and practical, since it's resilient and cleans well.
-
A clunky cabinet overpowered a cluttered dining area. It was removed to make way for a built-in wall unit and a new table where the whole family can enjoy a meal together.
-
An adjoining family room was re-done as well. Mismatched sofas were replaced with coordinating pieces, and where there was once pink carpeting—hardwood floors.
-
Dark paneling came off the walls in favor of a light neutral paint, making the room look bigger and brighter.
-
