Most of us think we know the top three things that can destroy a liver: booze, booze and more booze. While it's true that too much alcohol, either all at once or over a long period of time, can be as destructive to a liver as a baseball to a window, alcohol isn't the only thing that puts your liver at risk.

Diseases caused by outside destructors, like hepatitis and cancer, can also cause problems in the liver. In addition, genetic disorders can be passed down from your parents. And finally, toxins can build up when detox pathways in the liver become overloaded.
