What does it take to lose weight and keep it off? One man says he lost 100 pounds by reading Bob's books and taking his advice. He shares his weight loss success story with Bob and offers ideas that could work for you, too.

Having struggled with his weight since the third grade, Michael says he tipped the scales at 265 pounds before he decided to turn his life around. He says he hit a wall when his pant size reached a 44-inch waist. Determined to drop the weight once and for all, Michael says he headed to the library, where he read several of Bob's books on how to lose weight and eat right.

By educating himself on the proper way to get fit and following a few of Bob's guidelines, Michael says he started seeing results within a matter of weeks. He stopped eating food a few hours before bedtime, started a rigorous walking routine and worked out to exercise videos at home.

After losing 40 pounds, Michael says he gained enough confidence to join a gym. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, he weighs about 170 pounds and says he is still exercising and eating well. For the past four years, Michael has been working in a health club helping others achieve their weight loss goals.

"I'm a lot more confident and I feel like I have people, I have support," Michael says. "You feel like you're alone when you're heavy or you feel like that's your struggle, [but] ideally, it really is—no one is going to put in the hard work unless you do."
