In February 2007, six specially selected participants who wanted to lose weight embarked a health and fitness program with Bob called the Best Life Weight Loss Challenge . Bob talks with three of the challengers—Tori, Bill and Tracy—about their progress so far. "This is a daily process—it's about waking up and saying, 'Hey, I want great things for myself," Bob says.

Tori says sticking to the program hasn't been a piece of cake, but for the most part, she's maintained a positive, can-do attitude that has really paid off—to date, she's lost 32 pounds! Balancing her own needs with the needs of her family has been an instrumental part of her journey. "Since I have really put them second and me first, the program is really working for me," she says.

Bill says issues such as emotional eating and setting unrealistic goals for himself plagued him during past attempts to lose weight. Now, he says he takes it one day—and one smart decision—at a time, which has helped him create a healthier lifestyle for himself. "I really don't categorize it as a diet—you're implementing small, manageable changes that you can maintain long-term," he says. By following the program, Bill has lost 54 pounds so far.

Tracy has also progressed by leaps and bounds, and has already dropped 52 pounds. In fact, she says she now weighs four pounds less than she did when she first met her husband. "I find myself in a big phase of self-discovery," Tracy says. "It's like, 'Wow, this is who I could be!" By continuing to educate herself about health and fitness, as well as fine-tuning her current habits, she says she hopes to enjoy continued success.
