The IOU Project brings the life of a scarf full circle—from the master weaver in India to the European artisan who assembles each one and finally to the owner. By snapping a photo of the scarf's QR code with the company's iPhone app, the recipient can complete the story by uploading a picture of him or herself wearing it. Plus, the European craftsmen and the 20 million Indian families that depend on hand weaving can keep their jobs (which are continually threatened by mass manufacturing).
