You can substitute any berries, like blueberries or raspberries, for the strawberries. To make milk shakes instead of floats, add ice cream and 1 cup buttermilk to blender with berry mixture and puree until almost smooth.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups hulled strawberries
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • Unflavored seltzer water, chilled
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Directions

Total time: 10 minutes

Put strawberries and maple syrup in a blender and puree until just slightly chunky to form strawberry syrup.

Scoop ice cream into 4 tall glasses, then top with the strawberry syrup, seltzer water, and whipped cream (if using).
