Try this homemade peppermint ice cream by itself or as a sophisticated complement to another dessert.
Servings: Serves 6–8
Ingredients
Directions
Bring milk and cream to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in peppermint and turn off heat. Allow mint to steep for at least an hour.
Mix yolks, sugar, and vanilla together. Bring milk mixture back to a boil, then slowly add it to yolk mixture, whisking continuously. Allow ice cream base to cool, then strain. Discard mint, then follow the instructions for your ice cream maker. From the November 2010 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine
