David says he got the idea for the Post-It Flag Highlighter by observing college co-eds. While visiting a university, he says he saw students flipping through their textbooks to find highlighted sections.

"Post-It Flags are about finding things fast," he says. "And I thought, 'Well, why couldn't you put the two together and then you'd have the flags right at your fingertips—two in one."
