Irish Oatmeal with Apple and Cinnamon

The flavors of apple and cinnamon enhance the already delicious steel cut oats.

Servings: Serves 4

Ingredients:

Irish Oatmeal with Apple and Cinnamon
  • 1 cup raw steel cut oats (regular or quick)
  • 2   apples , cored and shredded
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. maple syrup  
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. toasted chopped almonds
  • 2 tsp. Smart Balance Buttery Spread
Directions:

Bring 3 cups of water to boil in a medium pot. Add salt and stir in oats, apple, cinnamon and maple syrup.

Cook oatmeal according to the package directions.

Divide into serving bowls and top with spread and almonds.
