This is an easy recipe for a real crowd-pleasing hors d'oeuvre. Finely chopped walnuts or chopped olives can be substituted for the sesame seeds.
Servings: Makes 2 dozen
Ingredients
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese , softened
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds , toasted
Directions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except the sesame seeds and blend well. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours, until firm.
Toast the sesame seeds in a 350-degree oven until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Let the seeds cool and put them in a small bowl.
Form the mixture into 1-inch balls (or smaller, if you prefer) roll the balls in the sesame seeds and place on tray. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
