Holiday table setting

Holiday Table Settings
The table setting is as important to the dining experience as the meal! You can set the table for the holidays by using your imagination and objects from around your home.

I love to use fresh flowers on my table, and I cut down on the expense by purchasing a bouquet of mixed flowers and asking the flower person to throw in some extra greens. I use my own wine and water glasses (I like that they're different heights) as vases to make several different arrangements that I can scatter over the table.

Special Napkin Displays
I like to find fun ways to fold napkins. This creation looks like a poinsettia! Experiment with what you have on hand and discover the unique designs you can create.

Fresh Basil Centerpieces
Host a pasta party during the holidays and use fresh basil instead of flowers on the table. Your guests can just pick off some fresh basil for their pasta and salad. I personally keep a whole bouquet for myself!

Holiday Place Settings
I'm always on the lookout for sales after Christmas. That's where I find fun things like this place mat, napkin ring and napkins. Here I used two different colors of napkins for a nice colorful touch!

If you're hosting an evening holiday dinner party, opt for tall candlesticks and fresh flowers for your table. It creates style and sophistication as well as a welcoming mood for guests.
