I used to think...
there was nothing worse than those agonizing days between going in for your mammogram and getting the call that everything's fine. But there is
something worse: not getting a mammogram at all. Take charge of your health, then reach out to every woman you care about and urge her to do the same. It's a message that's gotten through to favorite daughter Kirby—attending the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure
walk in Washington, D.C., was her idea.

"How does an orgasm feel for a woman? It's like trying to describe salt to someone who's never tasted salt,"
says Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) to William Masters (Michael Sheen) in the new Showtime series Masters of Sex. The show is explicit, complex, addictive and like nothing I've seen before on television. I like Masters of Sex almost as much as I like...salt.

I'd been searching everywhere...
for some kind of case to finally get my eyeglasses organized, but nobody seemed to understand what I was talking about. Well, wouldn't you know, Adam Glassman, O
's creative director, has come to the rescue. This leather-bound box holds 24 pairs of glasses; there's also a larger model, which holds 36. Specs-tacular! (Small case, $129, large case, $149; PeeperSpecs.com
I know loving another woman's man is wrong,
but I'd beg my friend Diane Sawyer to understand—because her husband, Mike Nichols, is the most interesting man on Earth. And speaking of tawdry affairs, he's also the director of the Broadway revival of Betrayal, opening October 27. Rachel Weisz is the cheater, cheater, pumpkin-eater having an affair with her husband's best friend, Rafe Spall; Daniel Craig is her husband (offstage, too!); and Nichols is a genius at the top of his game.

I have a theory:
Everything tastes better with truffles on top, and White Truffle Bliss from Pop! Gourmet Popcorn definitely proves my point. There's also a really good lite version for folks who want to celebrate National Popcorn Poppin' Month on top of the Halloween candy. (PopGourmetPopcorn.com)

"Proximity to power deludes some into believing they wield it."
Charlie Rose turned me on to Netflix's hit series House of Cards
, and thanks to observations like this one from Kevin Spacey's deliciously manipulative character, I'm rooting for this brilliant show to take home the Emmy come September 22.
