Food for Thought
It's safe to say that I'll try anything with bananas in it. In fact, when I read the menu at Eddie V's in Austin and saw that it included Hot "Bananas Foster" Butter Cake, I decided to skip dinner and go right to dessert. The scrumptious sweet is a butter cake with caramelized bananas, butter pecan ice cream and a whole lot of fire. If you're within 20 miles of Austin's city limits, it's worth a detour.

Sole Mates
Going to a Katy Perry concert is like watching a kaleidoscope come to life: The girl loves color just as much as I do. Now she has a shoe line, Katy Perry Footwear, that's bright and bold like her. It's got a little bit of everything: baby blue pumps with an ombré heel, star-patterned flats, and vibrant red-orange sandals. Only a happy—and very confident—person would wear pumps that look like a Rubik's Cube. Hey, if the shoe fits... (KatyPerryCollections.com)

Baller Alert
I’ve always been a huge basketball fan. When favorite son Will played for his high school team (go, Brunswick Bruins!), I was not a quiet spectator. So naturally we've been regulars at the NBA All-Star Weekend for the past ten years. On February 19, we'll be in New Orleans to cheer on current players (my sights are set on Stephen Curry and LeBron James), catch John Legend's halftime show and enjoy the Big Easy's best comfort food. Beignets and basketball? Put me in, coach!

Confession
I've had a girl crush on the country group Little Big Town since their 2014 hit "Girl Crush." Now with the release of their latest album, The Breaker (February 24), the crush is stronger than ever. Singer Kimberly Schlapman told me the band worked on the album for more than a year and wanted the songs to be both serious and downright fun. The result is a feel-good, nostalgic and heartfelt record. One of the catchiest tunes is "Lost in California": I wanna get caught, get caught up in your summertime. My summertime just got better!

Curtain Call
Cher deserves a standing ovation for looking and sounding as good as she does at 70 years old. The boundary-pushing pop legend will have die-hard fans on their feet (note to self—wear comfortable shoes) on February 8 when her new show, Classic Cher, comes to the Park Theater at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. This is Cher's third outing since her "farewell" tour in 2005, so I guess some of us can turn back time.
