The Saving Grace actress reveals her ideal dinner table guests and what they'd be eating. Plus, her favorite travel spot.
Gift she's ever given or received: Let's see...I've given some really good gifts. When my husband and I were dating, I ordered some firewood for him and wrote on one piece in magic marker: "To Matt, Love Laura." It was funny to be wrapping up a log and giving it to him, but he loved it and thought it was really sweet. The best gift I've ever received? Probably a great footprint painting from my son. Ideal dinner guest, living or dead: I've got a science thing, and Neil deGrasse Tyson is totally my new favorite person. And Stephen Hawking. I'd like to have dinner with them. Meal: Well, tonight I'm cooking tomato sauce, which I call gravy, and I'm making meatballs. I'm also making this big vegetable medley with broccoli and artichoke hearts and fresh spinach with toasted pine nuts on top, and then I'm also going to roast some potatoes and purple onions. So I've got sort of vegetably stuff going on at the moment. TV show [other than her own]: I love Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert. I watch them both way too late at night. I also love Frontline and Nova and Science Now and all that kind of stuff. Where's your favorite place to travel? Well, since my family's in New Jersey, I do love to go there. I know, it's quite exotic.
