Dr. Joan Borysenko is a world-renowned expert in stress management and mind-body medicine. Her gracious presence, sense of humor and ability to combine the latest scientific research with personal stories and riveting anecdotes make her a popular speaker in venues ranging from hospitals and corporations to conferences and retreat centers.

Dr. Borysenko received her doctoral and postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, where she later served as an instructor in medicine. A biologist as well as a licensed psychologist and spiritual educator, Dr. Borysenko is a pioneer in psychoneuroimmunology and the co-founder and former director of one of the first mind-body clinics in the country.

She lives in a historic western town (population 170) in the front range of the Colorado Rockies with her husband, Gordon Dveirin, and their two canine companions, Sophie and Skye. A New York Times best-selling author who has written numerous books, including It's Not the End of the World: Developing Resilience in Times of Change, and produced a wide variety of audio and video programs—including the PBS pledge special Inner Peace for Busy People—Dr. Borysenko is also a journalist and the host of her own radio show. A former monthly columnist for Prevention magazine, Dr. Borysenko currently blogs in the Living section of the Huffington Post and writes for Kashi.com. Her work has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, The Washington Post, O, The Oprah Magazine and Yoga Journal.
