Just heard on the Nancy Grace show that Cindy sent an email stating that she cancelled The Oprah Winfrey Show not the other way around. Classic Cindy!!!
We are the voice for Caylee in that we refuse to allow her grandparents to profit from her death. I will write emails til my dying day if it means that George and Cindy don't make one cent further off Caylee's death.
And I hardly see that as "persecution" of the Anthonys.
I dont know what you are listening to but I have never heard one single person who represent any of the media say any of those things that you are saying. Yes I have heard 'commentators' saying things like that when they were asked as guests on certain shows but that is only their opinion and most people with any sense can tell the difference between a news report and an opinion. Leonard Padilla is just one of those people. At the beginning he had a lot to say because he was the only one from outside the Anthony clan who was let in the circle. Now he is being asked his opinion. What in the world is wrong with that? It is not being reported as facts. People are free to believe him or not. Yes Cindy did say she washed the pants which DOES mean she got rid of evidence. Anything that was in that car was evidence. You can make all the excuses for her that you would like but the fact remains that she did get rid of evidence. That is not a media lie. THe only thing up for grabs is whether or not it was intentional. What bothers me is the people who say things like the media is giving out false information and we cant believe what the media says, etc. The media REPORTS what is shown to them or told to them or what they have discovered through their own sources. They have a high standard to follow due to libel and slander laws. I have followed this case from Day 1 and probably seen hundreds and hundreds of articles, tv shows, etc about this story. I have never read anything from the so called media that turned out to be false or blown out of proportion. Yes I have read junk like Lee is the father or George is the father or the Anthonys knew Caylee was dead the day it happened, etc etc. But all of those comments came from forums like this where people offer their opinions.
It is as we have been saying all along: The Anthonys are not being tortured for anything their daughter has done. They are being ostracized-and rightly so-for the things THEY HAVE DONE. This includes, but is not limited to lying under oath, lying to LE, implicating innocent people, obstruction of justice, etc. etc. THese have all been well documented. I have not read one single post that read "I hate them for what their daughter did. Do not have them on your show because of what their daughter did." For some reason you continue to completely gloss over what THEY have done wrong and how badly they have behaved in this situation. You used the right word: pathetic. And while on one hand you think that their right to free speech has been abused, you seem to have a problem with those who complained about them exercising THEIR freedom of speech. I have compassion for anyone who has lost a child but when they become a co-conspirator-as the Anthonys have done with their actions-they lose that right to compassion and earn nothing but my contempt.
So glad that Oprah canceled the show with Cindy and George Anthony. Clearly Oprah realized that her show did not need to become apart of this whole mess of the Anthony's in their attempt to do damage control instead of voicing the truth. I certainly would have doubted Oprah in her creditability in permitting these people to use her show that I have faithfully watched for many years. ![]()
Look, you see only what you want to see. I posted my opinion and was called Cindy by your friend Susan. If that's a friendly invitation to open discussion, then I want no part of it, thank you...
Ah okay... I understand now, you have consistently went against the grain so that 'your' voice would be heard above the others here so when it was all said and done, you could groom others for your own message board. An exclusive 'club' just as you attacked 'others' for doing the same. And as far as cruel is concerned, you were very mean to Suzan and others, they went out of her way at an attempt to get you to enter into a conversation. Which you side stepped or blew off very rudely. I have read no name calling, except that which you sent flying from your own keyboard. You have not discussed the case 'at all' while here on this board.
I wish you well, your dialog above are the words of a self proclaimed 'victim', and are excuses for your conduct on this board.
Good luck on your board.
Two more maybes. Maybe it's not what I see in them but what I see in me. Maybe because I've only heard half of the case and ashamed to have jumped to conclusions about something I know very little about and had the good fortune never to experience.
Just let me preface this by saying, I don't feel all voices that speak out against the Anthonys are cruel.
You asked why I repeatedly defend them.
Maybe because I was taught 'God created us all equal' and sometimes some of us get a bad break. Maybe because I'd rather not say anything than say something cruel. Maybe because when I see a dog being kicked when it's down it turns my stomach. Maybe because one day someone I know and love may find themselves in a similar situation. Maybe because my mother raised me by the Golden Rule. Maybe because it scares me that someone who hates the Anthonys so much feels so threatened by one lone voice. Maybe because it's the Christian thing to do. Maybe because I like to get people pissed off. Maybe because I walked in their shoes. Maybe because this is America and one is innocent until proven guilty, or at least charged with a crime. Maybe because this is what make us different from other countries who don't have a democratic society and have great fear to speak out against the popular consensus. Maybe because Martin Luther King said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Maybe because I want to see that justice for Caylee comes with no doubts. Maybe because I fear my actions will fuel the defense to cry foul play, unfair and tainted jury. Maybe because I expect more from mankind, mankindness. Maybe because judgement is left in His hands and I don't see myself as a god. Maybe it's because instead of evolving we're dissolving as a human race. Maybe because I'm an Anthony relative and love them. Maybe I'm an Anthony hater and just want to make waves. Maybe I'm just willing to give them the benefit of doubt as to why they are going about things as they are. Maybe I think they're all crazy and not responsible for their actions. Maybe because I have faith in our system. Maybe because I see myself in those here who I scorn and that scares me or may me take a second look at myself. Maybe because I've lost all hope for a better world for all the children in my family and yours. Maybe...
Everyone is free to pick a reason above as to why I stuck around so long, but I'm done here. If I had not been attacked right after my first post, I probably have gone away long ago, but you reap what you sow, so.... However, I've set up my own message board and if anyone feels they have an open mind and can discuss this case without having to stoop to name calling, PM me and I'll send you the url.
Thanks, Oprah!
Perhaps, this person has been persecuted for someone else actions and relates to it on an emotional level, self projecting their own experiences and finds common ground between themselves and the Anthony's.
Just a guess... imo
nycitylady,
This isn't a typical situation. The Anthonys have turned everyone against them all by themselves. No one would have thought much about them if they hadn't torn into the very people that were offering to help them find Caylee. They were ungrateful and disrespectful since the beginning. They have played games with LE. They have offended the likes of Tim Miller and Mark Klaas with their selfishness. Mark Nejame walked away from them. Their own family thinks they are all certifiable.
I have to wonder why you find the need to repeatedly defend them? They seem to do a good job of standing up for themselves. Why do you invest so much time worrying about how "tortured" they are? What is everyone missing that you see in these very unlikeable, self-serving people?
I think it's awful that no matter where the Anthonys go, they lie and manipulate to avoid prosecution for their daughter. Their own statements don't even agree with each other!
If they are being tortured, is because they continually 'twist' facts, and their 'own words'. It would seem that they are abusing the right of freedom of speech, which they 'think' will be a powerful tool for their murdering daughter, who is being charged with harm and wrongful death.
In reality... their 'own' words are going to come back at them and seal their daughters fate.
We are the voices for Caylee... along with the court. That's how!
I however do not condone sending hate mail and threats to 'anyone'. The pen is mightier than the sword if used in the proper manner.
I think it's awful that no matter where the Anthonys go, hate and persecution follow them. The Connecticul foundation cancelled because they got hate mail and threats.
It's as I've been saying all along, it's pathetic these people are being tortured for something their daughter is charged with. It's awful when 'we the people' abuse our right of freedom of speech, such a powerful tool, to cause harm and for such wrong.
I know people are going to say, "We're the voices for Caylee." How?
