Hi, Unfortunately the product you mention is not a company or product that was featured or endorsed by The Oprah Show. There are many scams out there that say a product was 'Featured' on The Oprah Winfrey Show. A good rule of thumb is, that if you cannot find it on Oprah.com, then it is not a legitimate claim.
Just recently The Oprah Show did a segment on Internet Scams. Here is some information that has been posted on Oprah.com regarding scams:

There may not be a specific brand of wu yi tea that was mentioned. But, this type of tea has been on Oprah. I think it was a year or so ago. Also, I just saw Dr. Oz with his top 10 health secrets and green and white teas were mentioned as one of them. I was also surprised to see Chia seed mentioned on that same show as a major health product. I bought Chia pets for my kids years ago. Who would have thought the seeds were good for you! Is there any more credible information available about the teas and Chia or while there be more information on any upcoming shows about them? The segment was pretty quick...
stay away from this Company..they are illegally taking money out of my cheacking account ...the BBB can not keep up with complaints....please do not get involve..
Did you fill out a form at your bank so they can't take any more funds out.I am in the same boat with another diet tea called Te performance. They are posting under Oprah's name but these crooks are good they just change name&location
I've seen mixed opinions on wu-yi tea and sites that sell it. I've been doing some research and found a few sites where people say they've been getting great results. I also found a blog where the writer has been documenting very good results. I tend to put credibility with it as a lot of people visiting the site have left comments that they're having good experiences with it. I think with everything you're going to have opposing views like this. Best thing to do is do a little research and make the best decision for yourself. What I'd be interested in is knowing if all these people claiming its a scam have actually tried the product. All to often I see people in the gym crying about how their supplements don't work blah blah blah, but I see them walking into the gym with a drink from McDonald's, or they're hanging around the gym socializing instead of actually working out. Then they wonder why nothing is working for them, go figure.
That's the best advise you can give anyone inky.. many products advertised online with bogus testimonials and slick marketing can appear very attractive. But those same products can often be found locally, or with a short drive, allowing us to deal with a real person, one we can hold accountable, and at the very least get an expedient refund, if the product doesn't live up to the hype. ![]()
The best thing to do is cancel the debit/credit card used to prevent these companies from debiting your accounts. It is way easier to deal with the inconvenience of waiting for a new card then try to fight the recurring charges every month. They are technically not taking money illegally due to the fact you HAVE to be enrolled in these premier services to get the free trials. These companies elude the BBB by changing numbers frequently or fake email accounts. Be proactive about your online choices, really? The only way, I mean only way to avoid this is to not buy into the online hype about things of this nature. Goes to show you that the old saying "Buyer Beware" is pretty accurate!
I almost got snagged by this very kind sounding, young, Chinese man on a website selling the wu-yi tea. All of a sudden I was qualified to be a rare participant in a free trail study. Upon reading the condition, I discoverd that they would be billing my credit card monthly at the end of the "free" trail. I have been doing Oprah and Eckhart Tolle's online class and took a moment to get very still and present with the idea of buying into this. It was from the place of inner-space that I decided to stop and do some research. Thank you Oprah and Eckhart!
Bravo to you! If only I had been so wise. In only 2 months they have charged my account $130.00. They are very hard to get a hold of. So much frustratin and aggravation trying to cancel. Buyer Beware is right. I've learned my lesson. Anyone listening, Do Not buy this tea online ! ! !
DO NOT BUY THIS TEA! I went on-line to find out about this tea. I clicked on a free sample, where they needed my billing information for the shipping charges. Long story short....after researching this company I found out that they are a total fraud. They had already started billing my credit card before I cancelled it. Wu- yi is the company I bought from, Wu-long is another one that is fraudulently using Oprah's name. The tea oprah was talking about on her show is called Oolong, which is an chinese tea that has even more fat-fighting benifits than green tea, you can buy it at most health stores. I know this now, a whole day and cancelled credit card later. If I have helped even one person from making the same mistake I have, it was totally worth it!
Well you have definately influenced me. I was just browsing and saw this add for the Wu Yi tea. Reading the many testimonials was a tad bit exciting. I want to lose 40 lbs and according to the web site I could do this in one month. I am a nurse and I know better. I decided I should investigate before putting payment information online. I appreciate everyone's honest comments. I will get back on the treadmill and drink more water thank you very much!!
