Any thoughts on visiting past lives??

Posted on Nov 25, 2008 12:36 PM

Oprah had a show on being Regressed, (I think that was what it was called) This doctor put people in a hipnotic trans and they went and visited their past lives. Doing this caused the subjects to understand some of the things that are going on in their present life. I think that would be pretty cool to know of where I came before this. I could use some understanding of why things have been the way they have in my life. ?:|

In the course of my life I have had lots of psychic readings, including past life stuff. If someone is recommended to you and you think it will be helpful, I say go for it.

Ultimately, though, understanding will come to you one way or another when you are ready for it.

i just had a past life reading done and i am amazed how at one, i feel within myself. my inner actions with others are quite different although i don't feel as though the change is requiring any effort. its like watching myself. sandra, my reader, has been checking on me regularly because she loves the change. she is a freind of a freind so she is getting a full report on the change. amazining. now, several weeks later, i am changing the habit of negative thinking which was common in my life. its sort of like giving up cigarettes and yet still having the triggers to what kept me smoking in the first place. changing habits of thought is the hardest part of "change".

Knowing your past life may not give you much understanding regarding your present life.

Concentrate on your present life, the present life is a journey, we are all on the same life journey,

there will be good times and there will be bad times. God's laws and God's love apply to all of us.

We are more alike than we are different, remember that.

Believe in yourself, you are a child of the Universe. Trust in God.

Friendly greetings :)

Hi Star,

I have seen this show as well recently. Although I had never thought of it before seriously. This show did provoke some thoughts about it.

I have no experience with it. I tend not to push it aside though. I think that if you ever would like to try, you have to be sure that the therapist is well recommended and educated. It is not something that I would like to try if I were not completely sure about the therapists experience with regression therapy. From the show I did understand that it gave real insight in why people have certain fears, anxiety or obsessions for example. It did sound really helpful.

I wonder if the therapist at Oprah show has written about it. I forgot his name though.

Hi Star, hey....I have put dozens of people in a hypnotic trans and did past life regression......I am with benjamin9 on this one.....it is best to stick with this life and our purpose here now....regression into past lives is not really helpful 95% of the times...and has caused more harm than good.......now with my clients.....I am a careful Hypnotherapist and would not intentionally hurt anyone....I do not mention doing past lives to my clients....but every now and then one shows up......and just has to exp. a past life.....if they do not have real major issues in this life....and are curious ....then I do the regression.....IMO.....if you do a past life regression......don't take it to seriously......it could slow down your Real purpose for being here.....just my thoughts......I enjoy teaching others how to use healing energy and heal self...fyi...i am very brave.....and 1 past life had me shaking in my boots....for months....there are safer and more productive healing tools......just my take on this subject.....love and light to All

I find this topic facinating.

The understanding that "I AM NOW' Continues to Blow my mind.

I use to think my body was a major part of life after death. I Now see that as being rather silly.

The body is merely the vehicle nothing to be concerned about in the end.

It is precious earth.

If I could name or lable or define who I am I would say that I am "NOW"

I am what I was yesterday and am Now and will be tomorrow.

I am not what I give attention too I am attention itself.

And I am Now.

....love....

Star,

We agree with benjamina - Here Now.

Try the book "The Bridge Across Forever" by Richard Bach.

There truly is not a past or future with respect to this subject, and believing in it puts you back into "cause and effect" thinking, which is ultimately a blame-game to some degree.

Imagine a stack of those old "slide discs" that you had when young - those discs with a dozen slides of wildlife or something, and you dropped them in that funny viewer and looked at them, and pressed the lever to move the disc to the next little slide.

Imagine a huge huge stack with every possible "anyLife" somewhere on those slides.

Imagine that you can move freely among these as you choose, through Time. Freely, as you Freely choose.

NOT "well, if I do this in 1765, then in 1872 I can do that". Or, "oh I was Lizzie Borden, no wonder I am such a mess now".

**

In Bach's book he speaks of being in touch with "possible future versions of" himself.

It opens the idea of CHOICE and OPPORTUNITY, not obligation.

The same is true of pasts - there are countless possible pasts.

Beyond that, we say "forget about it"... ;)

**

Valid inquiry though - please understand we don't think you are silly for considering it - and even if you choose to go thru with it, we'd say "good on ya!!".

But we would personally spend our time elsewhere - well, Here Now.

I (greg) did a bit of the out-of-body stuff. It was fun, but sort of pointless in the long run, to me. Nothing worth getting all "oohhh, now I know the truth..." about.

It's a trick of being/doing, that's all.

So is Living Fully, Here Now, In Form, in the Dream Field of Becoming...

It's why, I am certain, I Dreamed up Being Here.

Now, on to Becoming...

Another consideration is that everytime you venture into the world you encounter aspects of past lives in the very people you encounter.

This explains why some resonate positively, and some have a rather "bad vibe" about them.

This also gives credence to the idea that the echoes of your past and seeds of your future are always right Here Now.

This gets us back to our racetrack analogy. (Roadracing - on street courses)

When entering Turn 7, the proper place to look is ahead to the exit of turn 9!! 1/4 mile ahead into the future I envision.

Far beyond the "present" place the motorcycle and my body are located.

I bring Turn 9 into my NOW.

Of course I could look off in the grass, but who wants to go there at 126 miles an hour on racing slicks?

And, get this part...

If I look behind me - past lives, so to speak - I will definitely go off course, and likely crash.

A setback at best.

Been there, done that.

Great topic Star - thanks!!! :x

Hi philastar1, there is a series on cable called the UNIVERSE. We record them and watch at our leisure. The other night we watched one on parallel universes. Apparently the more they study quantum physics the more it looks like their may be countless universes out there with countless copies of us each living a different aspect of ourselves, as in when we reach a need for a decision to be made, like go right or go left, whatever decision we make another us pops up in a parallel universe that went the other way and will live that path out. This is all happening simultaneously. We found this very interesting and the concept or possibly of this being true entertained our minds for countless hours. Love and Peace, Carol and Paul

Hello Carol and Paul, I have believed the above information you posted, for 10 plus years....working in the metiphysical field and interested in quantum physics....It is all true.....and hard finding words to explain it.....I believe this topic is very close..........to the core truth of our being.........One with All.........we must be getting closer to true realization of True Self.....otherwise this info....would not be considered at this time....peace tt

Hi taratuna, although this was the first time it had been presented scientifically to us we must admit that in younger years, especially when with groups of others in a similar state of open mindedness so to speak, lol, this possibility had come up and had been explored. We definitely see some kind of writing on the wall of humanity's journey leading toward new perspectives and truths that we as a species are ready to grasp. We wonder if when we each delve into the past and wonder what would have happened if we chose left instead of right it is because we are simultaneously living out that decision in a different universe that is not so distanced from us. Afterall, we are our Source realizing ourself so all things are possible. Boy the saying that "we are so much more then we realize" just took on a whole new meaning. That could come to show us that we are everything all at the same NOW experiencing every possiblity at the same time, we just don't know it or see it yet. In this truth every NOW of our lifetime would matter because it is a necessary piece of the whole realization, no wrong or bad.

Parallel Schmarralel.

;)

We're going to blow them away with our "Stacks of Parallel Kodak Slide Discs" series...

Vast universes, sort of like junk closets, with countless stacks of paper discs with flimsy slides in them.

Peace y'all!
