I'm always hearing tips for women with big butts, BUT I have a problem that I think affects alot of women and I never seem to hear advice on how to help it. I have no waistline! My waist and hips are almost identical. I have been every weight from 98 -325 pounds and the problem never goes away. In order to get pants to fit my waist, they are too too big in my hips. I feel fortunate to have slender hips, but they don't get shown off because my pants are too baggy. I just know there has to be others that share my issue! HELP!
I was really anticipating this show, being a Black female with a curvy butt, but when the first girl came out saying that her jeans are always big in the waist and tight on the butt and the "stylist" told her basically to do what she has been doing (that hasn't been working!) - buy the same type of jean - a jean that's too big in the waist - and have them ALTERED! Then she came out in a DRESS! WHAT? What happened to the jeans? She came to the show looking for JEANS that will fit her butt, not a formal dress! I was FLOORED! That did NOTHING to help me! What!!? Why couldn't this so-called "stylist" do enough research to find some jeans that will fit a typical "Black" butt? We typically have larger butts and there are tons of Black females who watch the show (including most of my friends), so I'm SURE we were all watching and waiting to hear some good news - that she found a jean that will fit our behinds that are also cost effective, but noooo! What a disappointment!
LADIES! I have searched high and low for a good pair of jeans. I found them at New York & Company. They are the SOHO Curvy; perfect for a larger tush, mid rise with no gaping waist. A perfect size 6 on these! Their career pants City Knits are also fabulous. Great cut and very forgiving on saddle bags and droopy butts.
What Stacey says is true; we have to try and try and try plenty of jeans and pants on! A pair that's good on your friend might not be good on you! I'm a small person, but I have wide hips and thighs. I try to dress in solid colors instead of using patterns; solids make me look longer and leaner.
I have the same problem - In order to button the waist, the jeans are huge everywhere else. If you get a reasonable response to your problem, please share with me. You're right about how many people can afford those ridiculously priced jeans? Then we're told to buy them to fit your largest part. Hello, even if you could afford the expensive jeans, you probably then couldn't afford to have them altered unless you're in the entertainment business.
Thats exactly what I was thinking. I know most of the people I know can't pay more then $20-$50 for anything. I'm always searching for bargains. I can't afford $700 jeans. Thats 2 car payments! I don't really want to shop at low end stores, but it would be nice if they discussed more options. Another thing I would like to bring up---my biggest pant problem is the thighs. If you buy bigger pants/jeans and you pay $40, then to have to go and pay another $40 to have them altered in the waist. I really wish they would help real people. Those women today, all looked pretty thin. No real problem areas.
The show was really great, but the one thing that caught my eye was the Donna Karan Body Perfect Collection. Unfortunately like other viewers I am not a standard size so none of the ones I found would come anywhere near fitting me! I can't wear dresses or skirts because I can't stand pantyhose and I can't go without something to shield the inner thighs. I was really disappointed in not finding something for us big girls!
