Dear Oprah, I just finished watching your Christmas Kindness show and I am deeply touched but also deeply troubled by the vast number of people dying of aids and also of the children who are being orphaned because of this terrible crisis. As Nelson Mandela is your hero - YOU ARE MINE!!! YOU HAVE TOUCHED SO MANY PEOPLE WITH YOUR LOVE, KINDESS AND GENEROSITY!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR ALL WHOSE LIVES YOU HAVE TOUCHED AND CONTINUE TO TOUCH EACH DAY. Oprah, I am just a single mother of two grown children but will try each payday to send what I can to this very important cause. I wish I could do more. Did you have alot of inquiries from people wanting to know about adopting a child from South Africa? I would love to do that or just go there and work at the orphanages. I should have gone to bed hours ago but I am unable to stop thinking about the needs of those most precious children. Again, Thank You Soooo Much for your beautiful and very sweet spirit! If you think there is anything I could do I would love to hear it. L

To the modern day angel whom gives to help the world; I write because it hurts to breath, I just finished watching the Oprah Christmas Kindness special and I needed to than you, all of you, Oprah and her wonderful team. Sometimes when life allows me to be still, and I am able to listen and feel. I am taken over by the pain which hangs in the air, pain from people I do not know, from a place I have never been. A pain I hope to one day help heal, but for now leaves me feeling helpless. I have no money, and only a little university education, but I want to dedicate my time and love to helping fight poverty and AIDS. Please if I can be of help, I will give you every breath I have in till my lungs will fill no more. Please use me if you can, please let me help. Forever I give you all my love and gratitude. Thank you for your time and consideration. Holly

Dear Oprah, and everybody who worked with you for the Christmas Kindness,

I am myself an African woman who is currently studying in the US. Although I have been lucky growing up in Africa, I have seen and experienced all the injustice, poverty and diseases that exist in that continent. I would like to send you my warmest respect for what you did for the children of South Africa. There is no word that can really describe what I feel about your action.

Since I was 5 years old, I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, and your presence, Oprah, gives me more strength to pursue this dream and become a positive asset to our planet. God bless you and everyone around the world that shares as much love as you do. THANK YOU AGAIN.

I promise you that when I get where I am planning to get, I will loudly pronounce your name and Mandela's name as the people being the ones that pushed me assist people around the world. Thank God my education is currently helping me reach that goal. Until then, I'll do my share, by sending what I can for the cause you are supporting. If there is any other way you might need my help, please just let me know.

Dear Mariam,

Your comments to Oprah touched my heart.

We are SO lucky to be in the world at the same time as she is, aren't we? It's thrilling to the soul to learn about people like her with big hearts and wonderful ideas and visions...I can tell that you are one of those people too.

May you be blessed forever!
Sincerely,
Susan

i just watched the christmas kindness episode and my heart weeps. couldn't stop crying. i have all my life wanted a chance to be different and many times been struck with ill luck but not anything this sad.i have just one prayer and wish for the new year as it rings in :that i i strive to make a difference in one life, perhaps two, or three or a community and maybe the world. i have dreamt of being a part of the oprah on the day when big gifts are doled out but i have a new dream now. i still would one day love to be a part of the oprah show, only i want to come bearing gifts.
To you oprah, no one is more deserving of the wealth u have for it is in the right hands. Thank you for ur big heart, for the difference u have made in so many lives, for accepting the responsibility to make a difference, for being true to your inner man.
