Thank-you for statement. I feel the same way and have been contemplating what to do about it.

The boards are a great way to make a connection with people, but the information is scattered about and frankly, there is enough negativity in the world, that finding it here with people that don't understand is very tiring for me. Yes, it's real life practice, but real life gives me enough of that. The dog barking incessantly next door gives me practice all day long. Enduring comments from people who are fear based when I'm seeking enlightenment and support is too much work, so this is not quite what I had in mind. I know that Eckhart could do it, but alas, I am not there yet.

I wish there was a way to put together a kind of collective, organized group that continues from the classes.

I keep finding that I oscillate between feeling on the brink of being in an enlightened state, and then life takes over and I find myself having to relearn things I already knew and already understood. I keep making the joke that someone needs to write "Eckhart For Dummies" for my reference!

I wish that Oprah would facilitate some kind of collective, organized group that can take this to the next level. Come to think of it, I NEED A JOB I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT AND WOULD LIKE TO DO THAT FOR A LIVING!

Any thoughts?

You can listen to them again....that is what I do......OR you can go to your local library and get his books on CD...Or you can listen to the soul series on your IPOD......you then begin to see that there are many teachers out there that can help add to your path...

peace, Miriam

Absolutely Miriam, I keep many of Eckhart's and
other's teachings on my mp3 player, and listen all day while I work. I
intersperse the teachings with songs that have spoken to me since my awakening.
I study the words of these songs so that as i listen, it grounds me. I have not
had a single slip back into unconciousness. My life has gone from 46 yrs of
hell, to complete immersion in heaven. I find I actually enjoy my mind
now.
Peace

Frank

Yes, that is true what all you people are expressing. There is a danger to look out for though if you are all so totally relying on someone like Eckhart to come and save you. He is not anyone's savior nor is anybody else going to ever be your savior. IT IS and can only BE your own CONSCIOUSNESS that is WITHIN each and everyone of us. Open up our hearts most especially in those moments when we encounter NEGATIVITY out there in the world. Like Einstein once said, nobody can solve any problem at the same level of the problem where it seems to be. We must practice going to another level to transcend and transform ourselves. Then the problem diminishes.

I found myself opening up to a new way of seeing when I listened and watched a DVD on "Understanding the Brain" by Professor Jeanette Norden from the Vanderbilt University. When she showed how the Limbic system is so interrelated to all of our emotions and how neuroscientists make a clear distinction between emotions as those physiological and biological changes in the body and feelings as being nothing more than "internal subjective states about the emotional experiences" which our brain is processing and interpreting about the world we see. Through studies of people and animals, we have come to know how important our feelings and emotions are to express as these are what helps us to come to a "rational" decision. Without feelings and emotions, we would not be able to make rational decisions.

So that "old" saying, "FOLLOW YOUR FEELINGS" or "WHAT'S IN YOUR HEART?" or "WHAT'S YOUR GUT FEELING?" is so, so very true. Neuroscience is now revealing this GREAT TRUTH!

As I watch myself going through my daily experiences, whatever it be, and see these mood changes most especially when I vacillate what to do, I begin to see behind the vacillation, a fear. Now I know that fear is nothing but that Amygdala in the brain lighting up that comes from an instinct when there is "danger" threatening my life, but neuroscientists know now that everytime we train ourselves to shift our attention to the prefrontal cortex bringing awareness to the problem and our ability therein to come up with a plan or strategy how to interact with the world, we begin to unlearn those fears and those fears begin to diminish on their own without so much effort in that negative direction.

So focusing attention on the prefrontal cortex (which coincidentally is in the area of the "third eye"), scientists are now revealing how fear can be easily diminished. I just close my eyes when I am in a safe room in my own privacy and say a few personal affirmations to remind myself of who I am and my own power that comes from another dimension of self, the Higher Self, that is in Reality the Master.

The Power of Now is a great resource to guide you and to reconnect you now!

The simplicity of the words, the clarity of the meaning, speaks . . . it is the continuum of Being, the creative flow of spirit that has no end.

I periodically wake in the early hours of the morning and read passages from the Power of Now. I've not marked nor highlighted any words or pages, intending for it to be a clean slate, every time I read the Power of Now -- giving pause to breathe and meditate.

And my favorite, to sit by the sea with the book in hand . . . .
