Is that a Flip Video camcorder that Oprah is holding during the You Tube promo?

What was life like without the tube?
Having used youtube for the past few years, I am looking forward to meeting the people behind it.
It is especially fun to discover forgotten live performances by long gone music artists, to watch music videos from the 80's and reminisce about the hair and clothes....especially the hair! What were we thinking? I like being able to search on a variety of topics and the vids of the pets and animals being all cute and fluffy, makes me smile all the time.
You guys have done a great thing ... keep youtube going and I'll keep coming back for more.

Hi, My name's Eva, I'm from the Netherlands. Last summer I heard about Esmee Denters singing on YouTube, on the news. I thought: Oh woow, that's new; someone who becomes famous by singing in her own bedroom! But then, they said she was from Oosterbeek. Guess what?! I live in Oosterbeek too! That was so cool! I have never seen her, but I know everyone in Oosterbeek supports her!
Succes Esmee! Je kunt het meid! Oosterbeek Rules!
Yours truly, Eva Boelens

Oprah has a channel on the tube!
For us living internationally you have done a great thing! Sky doesn't always work out so this is a wonderful thing for me!
Vielen Danke! ... Thank you !

I love that you can add a YouTube feature to a website, but am wondering if this is violating any copyright law. I know this is a big issue with songs, and would love to see this addressed on the show. Or here...Thanks for your help.

I would think not, but it also depends on the particular site. Doesn't there have to be an agreement between the two companies to allow one to be integrated into the other? What do they cal it? Embedding?
I mention this because sites like myspace and facebook allow that integration as well and I have not heard of it being a serious problem.

Ahh .. ok, now I get what you were saying. It works both ways on utube. No, you are not suppose to upload material you have not obtained yourself or created. But on the other hand, major music companys especially and several Indy labels DO post their own music on the site (sometimes you will see Director or the companys business insignia) to reach a broader audience for their respective artists. Not only that, but utube does do copywrite sweeps. I know, because I have seen some favorite vids of mine that were there one day and gone the next. Or have looked for something specific ... only to get a red box on the top of my screen....Removed for Copywrite Infringement!
The copywrite problem with sites like napster over peer-to-peer sharing, the music industry hasn't given their expressed permission, but they are also not getting a cut of the action, so that's why you see a lot of music sharing sites that will charge you .99 or so for the downloading of each song. I hope this helps a bit.

I totally admire and respect all that Oprah has done for others, but I was sad to see that she has a YouTube Channel. A tv show, magazines, radio show, Oxygen, Dr. Phil, Rachel Ray etc. etc. etc....those are Oprah's. I just think that she could leave some media creativity and financial gain for the rest of us:( When media moguls crash in, they have the resources to dominate, and it only diminishes the ordinary man or woman's voice and contribution. I am just saying...

First of all, OH MY GOODNESS! Mr. Tony Potts was absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Shame on you for making me cry....lol I have always loved the song that he performed for his for his audition.....***APPLAUDING*** Tony, you better be glad that you are married, because I would be after you hard & strong.....*blushing*
Secondly, "WHY" would the original YouTube owners sell such a powerful product? I don't get that business move. Please explain.

Patrick ~ your fan club web page does not have any contact info....!...My respect and affection for this man continues to grow. Being married to a woman for the years they've finished states its own integrity. The temptations for both are beyond normal folks like us; yet they both just keep keepin on. i love how they do it. of course i know their movie 'the last dance' has been released more than a year ago. guess i'll watch it again this weekend. Patrick ~ you inspire me to think that just maybe the same hope of a man can happen for my girls. ~ blessings from the land of cheeze ~ mary kefer, 'skonsin
