I respectfully must differ with your 'bu de ful' comments on Marc Jacobs designs. They were homely - I don't know anyone who would buy or be seen in any of them. Those poor young models looked lost in dresses that were too big, too floppy and too dated. Abbey 'the emperor has no clothes'....... especially NOT these.
I LOVE shoes and loved the Jimmy Choo shoes on today's show. I have one question...
Why do so many women (today's models included) wear their shoes too small?
Nothing bothers me more than seeing toes hanging over the edge of a sandle or a heel hanging over the back of a shoe. This can't be comfortable either.
Am I missing something? Are we supposed to wear shoes that are too small for our feet?
OMG I couldn't agree more, the only reason I came here to post was to talk about this! Their feet weren't even that particularly pretty, what's up with that? The overhang killed the looks of these shoes - oh the horror! Whoever booked these models should be fired!
I agree about the clothes. I'm six feet tall and quite thin at 155. Even if I wanted to buy the overpriced things, I am fairly certain that I wouldn't look good in them. When Mr. Jacobs said that "all women love" shoes and purses, he apparently hasn't met me. I don't carry a purse (the diaper bag doesn't count) and I view shoes as a necessity and only buy them when my current pair wears out. With both clothes and shoes, I refuse to pay any more money than necessary.
I'm also not impressed with Barbie. I just think it reinforces the belief that a woman must be skinny, busty, white and blonde to really be sucessful. My daughter will not get Barbie (or any of the Disney princess dribble) unless it is given to me as a gift.
I like Elmo. I think Sesame Street is a great show (one of the few decent things left on TV). However, I don't think I will give to PBS if Elmo's puppeteer is a millionaire, like many of the other famous actors on TV.
Why did Elmo only get three minutes, but Jimmy Choo got two segments? Maybe Jimmy Choo paid more money for those two spots, eh?
When are we going to be able to buy the Oprah doll? She's gorgeous! Please talk to Mattel about producing the doll for the general public. It can be used to raise money for all sorts of charities......No, I don't work for Mattel, I just would like to have one. I am a big Oprah fan.
I was so surprised to learn that Marc is the mastermind behind LV bags. I love them! And I love the Louis Vuitton bag presented to Oprah! Can you tell me when the bag will be available in the retail market?
Thanks, Oprah for all that you do and for bringing such wonderful people to our attention!
Skye
I really enjoyed the show today, and I am especially interested in the purse that is Oprah's favorite, given to her by Marc Jacobs which I have check online with the louis vuitton site but I didn't see it. Could you tell me where I may purchase that purse I love it! Thanks Lisa
Barbie too "adult" for little girls? In the mid 60's I received a "Skipper" doll because the talk in my home and in my hood was that Barbie was too ummm too developed for little girls. Did anybody else experience that? Is Skipper a relict now? Too bad I don't have her anymore. I probably should have kept her in her original box and all. They didn't even mention her on the program, they only mentioned Ken. Maybe she was made by a different company? Oh, so many questions so few answers.
First time poster to Oprah boards but I was so furious midway through the show, I turned it off before Elmo was "exposed" and the innocence left behind.
I am all for talented artists achieving satisfaction in the work they love. Congratulations to them for doing what they love. But watching and hearing the studio audience cheering for $800 shoes and $1000+ handbags?!?! Is this the same Oprah that sits on stage with Obama crying out for "change" due to the masses of people who cannot afford health care for their babies or have to decide between a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas?! I know there are many people who make lots of money and $1000 or more for a handbag is change to them. I know Oprah reaches out to the "common" people but Sweet Jesus, I was stunned at the reaction of the audience. When did it become acceptable in America to purchase bags and shoes that are equivalant to the cost of a used vehicle? But more than angry, this makes me sad. So very, very sad.
I saw Oprah's show today and enjoyed it very much. It touched a subject in which I have a very big problem with lately
(SHOES)
You see, I wear a shoe size 5 1/2 in which now a days is very hard to find almost impossible. My shoe collection, which I treasure,
is very old and needs to stay in retirement. I will be turning 60 years old at the end of the year and would like to spruce up my image
inside and out starting from the ground and working up. Of course, this means SHOES, but where can I get them. in my size.. I need
help. I was hoping after seeing this show maybe I could get some answers

I totally agree! The doll is absolutely stunning and truly looked just like Oprah. I'm a huge barbie collector and that doll is a must have. The idea of all the profits going to charity is an awesome one!
Naturally, I fell in love with the silver sunburst (blah blah) tiered gown and want it to wear to a wedding in August. The show was a repeat, however, I would like to know if this dress is still available. I think it's from the Spring 2006 line and if anyone knows how I can find this dress, please reply. I have been searching for the name of this dress online and have had no luck. Because I am a teacher (coincidently teaching O Ambassadors after school) I miss the shows and catch up during the late spring and summer. This dress may be sooooo five minutes ago, but I say all that to say, I WANT this dress!!! Help!
