The month of May is-- May Powers bring June Flowers!! Seriously, who hasn't felt as small seed, covered and surrounded by lot of dirt !!! Follow this thread for the month! Keep coming back when you can...and whether your oldie or a newbie never underestimate the importance of what you have to share!ABOUT USIf you're looking to lose weight and be great in '08, join us here at the Slipper Stompers Thread. We're the original Boot Camp group that was started almost three years ago. Some of us have been around since then, some for a year, some for a few months, and others for only a few weeks or a few days ! We've lost anywhere from 10 pounds to over 100! We can offer volumes in information, advice, and support. We love "Newbies" (newcomers). They provide energy, focus, and remind us to keep it simple and stay with what works.Motivation, encouragement, support, and information from each other keep us coming here. Some of us check in daily, others once or twice a month. The great thing is that there's always someone here that will give attention to your personal needs - from understanding healthy eating and getting yourself moving to understanding your emotional health and what triggers drive you to food or to stop exercising.WELCOME !!

Welcome Slipper Stompin' Sisters to May's thread!! I hope everyone is doing well and able to make it over from April's thread, and I will be checking back for any stragglers or lost newbies. We might be starting out a little shaky, but I am looking forward to this new chance, new month, in my and everyone else's journey SHARING SORROWS, SUPPORT AND SUCSESSES here on the board. There are some on here, (me included) who like to post thier starting weight for the month, and share the loss or gain from the previous month, so if you are so inclined, please do, so that we can support you! (no matter where you are on the scale) ...... Tigger**For Current/Old Members**- I’d love to see this thread be a POWER house again. If this thread is to have any staying POWER, we must remember this board is a POWER plant, generating energy. We need to use our POWERS for GOOD and not evil, using POWER “Plays” driven by pettiness or egos need to stay off the boards. If you are feeling OverPOWERed, Please PM or e-mail me before flat out, up and leaving.We ARE each other’s POWER supply, a POWER Train transferring POWER from one to another, providing assistance in POWER steering away from choc chip pecan cookie dough and onto eating healthy, POWER workouts, and challenges. Good morning ladies,
Happy May Day!!!! Anyone doing the Maypole dance today? My daughter's college has a May Day celebration every year and they do the Maypole dance. It's very neat to watch.
Got on and read the posts then had to log off to go weigh. Boo-I'm at 157 lbs., which means I gained 2 pounds in April. Blew my goal of a pound a week. Actually, I'm surprised it wasn't more. I went on a 2 week salt binge and at the same time cut down on water intake. Real smart move, huh? However, today is a brand new month and I do feel powerful!
O.k.-I'm slow. We are tracking miles per day?, minutes per day?, steps per day? I also have a pedometer and I believe the recommendation is to get in 10,000 steps a day, I usually average 6000! Donna used to kick butt, she was always well over 10,000 steps a day. I'm going to continue to walk at lunch, I just wish the construction would get completed soon. I figure if I continue the lunch walk along with making sure I get the dog's walk in(I'm telling you, he's a slacker!)along with Curves, I should do well this month.
So my goal for this month is to lose a pound a week again. Last month I blew it, but I like this new challenge to get moving, it really is so important. I think being able to be out in the nice weather will also help me to reach my goals.
O.k., I'm off to get ready for work. Tomorrow is Friday and it cannot get here soon enough for me!!

Good Morning!
Got to bed late (midnight) got up early (5:30am) went to the grocery store. Stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies along with some other foods and juices and water. Gotta take the car in for oil change, then stop and pick up my newest pics at walkgreens (I do them on-line), then hopefully home to walk/bike. Mike got in his walk and bike this morning before he showered for work......WOOOOOHOOOOOoooo you go honey!

Hi ya'll Just got home from getting oil changed. Next on the agenda for the "rayne list" 1. clean inside of my Malibu
2. clean outside of living room windows (the sprinkler hit them and dirtied them 3. finish the laundry 4. vacuum the living room 5. back to walgreens for enlargements I did online 6. play with grandkids Dominic and Kiley 7. walk/bike

Almost done!
Did #'s 1, 2, 4, 3 is going and 5 had a mess up. Walgreens is redoing ALL my pics. They were yellow tinted. Turns out it was the paper. Just have 6 and 7 left, I even cleaned the front porch, which wasn't on my to do list
The sun's out, but still a bit chili out. rayne

Hi all! Yeah, I was wondering how we're supposed to report for May's challenge too... by distance? to the nearest tenth of a mile? Rayne, you're going to keep track how far we go total as a group, right? How often should we report? What we've done since last logon? or weekly totals? Let us know. Rosa - thanks for the clarification on the 10,000 steps. OK girls, time to power walk, power lunge, power lift, power interval our way to a powerful new body!

Tigger; POWER is a powerful word. I have a concern, though. You posted:

That was a pretty powerful statement and I hope noone was offended by it. I must say I agree with it. After what has happened in the past, we certainly don't need ego trips here. We're a team and we're here to help each other. We are all striving and weight loss is NOT an easy task, like doing the laundry and cleaning house or watching a movie. It's hard work. It was easier for me quit smoking. I don't need a cigarette to live, but I need food to live. When I quit smoking I didn't die, but if I quit eating I surely will. So, losing weight is tough and we have to toughen up and fight the fat. rayne More Like This
