Creating a Blog on Oprah.com

1. Create an Oprah.com account:

• Go to Oprah.com.
• Scroll down to the box that says "Oprah.com Membership." Click on "Log in."
• Click on the button that says "Join Today."
• Fill out the required fields to create your membership profile. Click "Continue."
• Scroll to the bottom of the "Subscription Sign Up" page and click on "Continue."
• Check your e-mail for an activation link sent from Membership-Oprah.com.
• Click on the activation link in the e-mail, or copy and paste the link into your browser window.
• When you get the "Thank You!" page, click on "Continue."

2. Click on the "Log in" link in the Oprah.com Membership box. (Please note: When you click "Continue" on the activation page, you are not automatically logged in. Once your membership is activated, you need to log in again.)

3. Fill in the username and password that you chose when you created your account.

4. On the top left corner of the page is a drop down menu that says "Inside Oprah.com." Click on that drop down, then click on "Message Boards."

5. At the top of the page, click on "Your Stuff," and select "Profile."

6. On the right-hand side of the page, click on "Create a Personal Blog."

7. In the description field, write a short description of what your blog will be about. Click "Create Blog."

8. Your blog is now created. To add an entry, click on "Write" on the left-hand side.

9. As you write, you can click "Save and Continue Editing" at any time to save. Once you are finished, click "Save as Public" if you want others to be able to view your entry. If you want to keep a blog entry private so that only you can see it, click "Save as Private." (You can save a blog as private and switch it to public at a later date. You cannot save a blog as public and switch it later to private.)
