I am interested in finding out more. My husband and I are out of work , my father has been out of work 13 months and we both have mortages and we have 5 children. Having a home business sounds great but we can afford a scam... That is my GREATEST Fear!!

Hi Erika,

I too am a stay at home Mom. Sadly not by choice. The government contractor I worked for laid off half the field works and half the office staff due to the ecomedy. I was the Receptionist. That was a year ago and i've been blessed that my spouse has been able to keep all the balls in the air with a big lifestyle change for us all. Things have gotten so tight that I now need to go back to work for the money. I haven't been able to find employment in my area so I've been playing with the idea of owning my own business. I would love more infomation you may have on different avenues for stay at home moms running a business.

How would I find a good stay at home job for me. I am currently a full time student , full time mom and my job just laid me off because they had no more places for me to work with a schudle that I have set ujp for school. I have been looking for some time and just never found the right one. AEvery stay at home job I found was a scam. Please help me in finding a stay at home job.

Hi Sheila, I am sorry for what you are going through. Too many people are being laid off and are in this terrible situation. It's a blessing your husband is still doing well. I do understand though about your need to to look for employment again. As I said in my post, there are MANY reputable business out there that will enable you to not have to work outside the home. The key as I told another mom is toe educate yourself. Learn which business will work for you and your family, your personality, etc. I have a video that helps others learn how the concept of the Home Business Industry works and what to look for. wow, I remember when I was a full time student and a working full time at UPS some years ago. Just reading your post brought back memories. I know how you feel. Unfortunately, I do not know how the home jobs worked. I looked into a few when I was let go but I didn't want to be tied down with a job from my home so I chose the home business route. Have you heard of a site called Cafemom? There you can join and connect with other moms who have jobs they do from home. You can also visit some of the Hotel Chains sites like Hilton or Sheraton, they have jobs for people to take Hotel reservations from home as well.

Just remember you should not have to pay any money to work for a Company from your home. If you are wanting to have a legitimate income-producing business you will need to invest. You must research and educate yourself.

Thank you for your kind words. That was my intent to open eyes of everyone I could. I am so happy to see so many people taking charge of their lives and not leaving it up to someone else.

When I started my business I was blessed to have the right one to fit my family, my personality and my goals. I am seeing many people start home businesses without a clue of what it will take and if it is a right fit for them. Most of us do this for the time and financial freedom. It wasn't easy but it was worth it and is better than having any job we have ever had.

You have two sons, what are their ages? Are you a single mom or married? If married how does your spouse fill about you having a business from home. How much time do you have to invest? Do you understand how the home business Industry works. How much income are you wanting to earn? What do you love to do?

Those are just some of the questions I ask others who are looking. We also show a very informative and life changing video so they can understand how we make the incomes we do and how to choose to right business that will give them what they are so desperatly needing.

Hi Erika,

I left my job for the help of my children. The job had me working long hours because the Position I was in, which relied on me being on the premises while open. Well, Being a mother I started noticing things with my older son, his grades and testing were starting to change for the worse. I felt that it was time I would put them first. I quit my job and now I have started a Family Child Care Home. However, the process was very long and my husband and I have used up our savings. I have yet to enroll the capacity of children needed to help my husband. Needless to say, we need financial help. However, this is not our only problem we are facing. My oldest son, whom I noticed some changes. Well now that I am actually home with the two of them, I have been able to provide more quality time with them. During this, I have noticed some behavior changes with my oldest. To make a long story short, Doctors are saying that he may possibly have ADHD. In order to properly diagnose it, he has to go to a Therapist and go through series of test to confirm and so forth. Because we have private insurance, and because my husbands job is the only income that is firm right now, it is hard to take my son in for his visits. We are a family were his income according to State, exceeds the normal therefore, we are not able to get any assistance.

I have been trying to research and wanted to know if there are any grants or any help for those starting a small business and for families of ADHD?
