Re: The Big Give Finale with the Million-Dollar Winner Apr 20, 2008 7:52 PM
I'm happy for the 3 finals Brandy, Cameron, and Steven. thy were my top 3 from the start I'll be happy w/either one to win. I hope this show could come back nxt fall its really good too watch every week ive waited for sundays too happen. i wish i was on tht show i love making people happy most of them love it even more where there kids involve or animals. 2yrs ago i spend $200.00 off my own money buying supplies for a local animal shelter and i had fun I would do tht again for something tht speaks too me. Oprah Show The Big Give was amazing and it helped me and I am sure many others to learn how to Give Big even if you don't have the money to do it! I loved the finale and agree with the choice for the winner! The final Big Give's were great, each in their own way. The only thing that I would have changed myself, was to try to get the High School Students at the Hope School to agree to pass it on by giving of their time to the children at the Shriners Hospital. That would have tied both events together and accomplished just what The Big Give was all about!

I like your idea about getting the Hope school kids involved with paying it forward. Brilliant! I disagree with the choice of winner though. I believe Cameron was the obvious winner....and I'm NOT only referring to his always bringing in the most money/having the biggest ideas; which undoubtedly is hugely important for the causes. But I refer to his unflappable sense of class and fairness. Did none of the judges observe the other two constantly bashing their Big Give "mates" and showing complete disrespect for the others? Cameron did not stoop so low. It is easy to see why this young man has risen to such great success, with his calm, drive, people skills and smarts. Good show nonetheless.
I have 3 girls, so I completely teared up when they ran out.
At any rate, I was a little ticked at the insinuation a few weeks ago that Oprah made to that guy who gave away the car. I failed to see how giving them money at the end is any different. Quite frankly, I don't have a problem with it. I think it is great, but I am not sure why Oprah had a problem with him doing it when it seems to me to be the same thing.
Having said that, I have thoroughly enjoyed the show series. It was great to inspire others to give big as well.
Oprah! What a great show - what a disappointing ending. Did any of your judges notice that the 'winner' was always the one critizing his team mates - and when the challenge was team work?? I watched the show with my kids and I'm disappointed that the "biggest giver" was also the "biggest complainer/back stabber". I wish the judges would have taken into account the fact that Cameron always gave big of himself in a way that didn't bring down other people. Your other 2 contestants were always bad mouthing the the others. Oprah - I don't think you would say that we should give big at the expense of others. What about your Eckhart Tolle ego lectures - come on - you and your producers are better than that. Practice what you skype......
Bummer, big bummer.

These 3 + Eric were my favorites and I was thrilled to wait for the show each week. I couldn't be happier that Stephen won at the end. I NEVER even thought about the students helping at the Shriner Hospital. That would have been the PERFECT ending to a great show. Hopefully the school's director will think of that when he watches the final episode & suggests that for the kids to show their thanks for all the benefits they received. Thanks, Oprah & staff for the best show on TV this year!!
I was glad to see the out come, not who I would have chosen but they all did wonderfully. I have enjoyed watching the show, but I would like to voice a concern also about it. I felt that it needed more of the "average joe" people participating in the Big Give. People that dont have tons of money or businesses of their own, or even beauty queens. People in the lower income bracket would be nice to watch and see what and how they do in this.
Totally amazing show.

I agree right winner chosen. I think Cameron could have won but was sidetracked with Brandi's effort. I agree with Jamie Oliver that Cameron secured Blue Man and huge donation and rude that he was not at school when they arrived. Thought Brandi's ideas were always on a smaller scale which is fine but not for finale. Also her gives always seemed to have a theme from her life. Think Cameron's ability to secure donations absolutely amazing but think his age and people pleaser team player mentality hurt him. Stephen would just take the bull by the horns. Diasppointed thart Nate and judges were not a bigger part of the show. Love Jennifer Amsiton but didn't feel she should have had such a major role in finale. It belonged to Opragh, Nate, and judges. Hope show returns with same host and judges. Good job.
