The "vet" in greeley is really a dead beat dad!! He owes child support to 4 moms for 6 kids. He wanted a free ride from the army! He was NOT injured in Iraq he never went anywhere! He deserves to get that money taken away and given to a real vet.

It was a good episode overall, but I do think it is ridiculous that Charlize tried to successfully make a comment about her having junk in the trunk! I really hate it when thin celebrities try to get away with those kinds of lines!!

I think it is good what Charlize was doing, but the thing that perturbed me about the children in south africa is the whole condomn thing. These are KIDS!! why aren't we teaching them about abstinence? Waiting for the right one and the specialness of it. That will eliminate the many number of sexual partners. If they want to do the whole condomn thing, which i think is just promoting and condoning the sex, they need to teach them all the consequences. condomns don't always work and you can still get diseases. that's just my opinion

Dear Oprah,
The thing that has moved me so much about The Big Give, it that it's everyday people who are recieving the gifts. I think we get so caught up in "charities" and labels for those we think are deserving, or in big causes, that we forget that everyday people need it too. The world is full of people going through difficult times and challenging situations that don't fit into the categories for "charity". It's wonderful to see regular people helping regular people. Tthe huge causes of the world are inportlant too but thank you for showing people who work hard and still need and deserve help. Thank you for the inspiration and keep up the great work!

It's nice that Charlize Theron went back to South Africa to fund a clinic that helps those kids. However, I was a bit put off when she said that had she not moved out of SA, she could have ended up like them. Did you see any white kids in that group? No! The white people of SA live quite a different and privileged life compared to the black South Africans. Many of them live in gated homes to keep the poor black community out. They go to private schools and have access to good health care. To try to sound like she knew what these kids were going through was an insult to our intelligence and to those children's situation. Shame on her! I'm also wondering why the focus was almost completely on Charlize Theron and not on the people who are actually working in the clinics and helping those kids. Is she doing anything other than providing the funding and doing photo ops for the Oprah show? I am beginning to wonder if celebrities do anything altruistic without a camera present. I kind of think this whole "Big Give" thing is more about exposure for the stars than it is about the people who are being helped. There are so many people who help others every day with nary a camera nearby and not just from their wallets. Why couldn't the show focus more on those people, like the workers at the shelters or the clinics rather than the perfectly coifed movie stars? I have so much more respect for people like that. It should be more about the "helpee" than the helper.
