A couple gave up their dream house to give three girls a second chance. Watch Nate do what no one thought possible. It's the biggest makeover in Oprah Show history!

Beautiful! I want one :o)
The "playhouse" in the backyard was a wonderful idea. A place to be creative and to "stretch out".
Teachers are always telling us our son doesn't understand personal space - we smile and explain that with 6 children, it's hard to find and experience personal space in our home. An outdoor addition is such a great idea.
The house Nate did was amazing. The girls' reactions were priceless. I'm glad Mom got such a fabulous bathroom and I bet Dad is feeling a lot less stress.

I'm curious about how the family became guardians of their nieces -- are the parents deceased? It is wonderful to see how the family relates to one another and what a wonderful new home they have thanks to so many people -- this makes for an uplifting start for my day -- thank you!

I am very happy that This Particular family was able to have a happy ending! Now read or hear my side. I'm a mother of five who doesn't have space for myself and my husband. although the apartment has 3 bedrooms they are so small that I had to buy a king size bed so that my 8 yr old son and my 5 yr old daughter can sleep on a bed YEAH you know how my husband and I are spending our nights. My husband is a driver and is constantly tired because he has to sleep in a corner at the footrest of the bed and I have to sleep on the other side. There is no Us anymore and to make matters worst, the bed is in its lasts poerforming days how about that! I hope this family can cherish and enjoy their new accomodations because there are many of us that can not afford it and also would like to offer the same love and courtesy to our kids. Good Luck and God Bless this family.

How cute a 1400 sqft house 6 people cant live in. Nice and roomie.
I almost threw up when I started watching this, I have no home 2 kids and a wife I lost everything 5 years ago cause of a back problem and a knee problem. These poor people who OWN a home and 1400 feet is enough I seen plenty of EMPTY space for people to move about.

I got nothing and I have asked OPRAH in the past to help me with my kids christmas. NOT ME my 2 kids.

I have to LIVE now in a 1000 sqfoot house with my MOM and brother. Wanna talk about a SAD house and NO room? Its run down falling apart.

These people had a great house compared to this damn place. I have nothing lost everything and these people if i could have their OLD house it would be GREAT.

OMG just make me sick that they are doing so well and yet others are so so much worse.

Give me a break NATE. Wait no dont I am not getting any.

What a joke such a alice and wonderland

the most amazing family of 6 that actually had it pretty nice

nothing amazing

wanna see amazing come here and check this place I am stuck in. you will be amazed its actually liveable

WOW next time you make something up , try a little harder this show was laughable

nice trying to pick out a POOR white family, but it failed.....poor poor white family POOR HOW, hard luck how?

come see my white family and I will show ya POOR and hard lucked WOW

As I watch Oprah today from the 6 inch tv in my home office...the one where Oprahs face is always green...I can't help but feel like a horrible and ungrateful person. I am watching this wonderful, and I am sure deserving, family get this beautiful home and I am feeling so envious. I saw their old kitchen and thought, my goodness, I would love to just have that kitchen, let alone a whole house makeover. Except for the homes down south, it seems as though all of the decorating segments are for celebrities or people who are not that desperate. If the Oprah show ever wants to do a home makeover on some homes that are litrally falling apart I would be glad to give them a list. And if Nate saved any peices from this families "old" kitchen, I would be glad to take them.

God Bless Oprah, and Nate, they change people's lives, not just make them over. People everyday struggle, to raise children, and get by in life. Taking the responsiblilty of other people's children, is the biggest blessing you can give a family member. I know first hand. These are great parents who truly deserve this makeover, for themselves and their beautiful kids. Rev. Peterson

*Are you kidding me?!?* Didn't any other family submit a request for a new home? 1400 Square feet? I live in less with my family and I would never ask someone to give me a gift so big...How *shameful* of that particular family...their kitchen was newer than most people I know! No closets? Big deal, I have 2 in my whole house for 4 people. Why didn't you just buy them a couple of dressers and a new dining table and call it a day. Sure, they took in their nieces, most of the people I know in my tight circle of friends and family have done far more generous things than that and yet don't receive the acknowledgement like this family did...and they certainly don't ask for it, either. How *excessive*...please, I beg you, tell me that you at least donated all of the old cabinets, toilets, fixtures etc. to Habitat for Humanity?!? Oprah, I can't believe you couldn't have done something greater than this for a family greater than this! While I believe that these children deserve the moon and more, I also believe that all children do. I am absolutely shocked at your decision to feature this family for your biggest home makeover ever!!! This show is laughable at best and actually makes me sick to my stomach. I have watched you for a very long time and have believed you to be an authority on giving and one of the best examples of angels on earth, this, has made you a little less credible. Give me a break...

Thank you Oprah and Nate for selecting his family to receive "their dream". They are building a family first and it showed by how all the children interacted - they are blessings.

We all have someone we know that needs a hand - let us each take a moment to reflect on this family and reach out and touch someone. God will continue to bless us and give us strength to follow and lead.

I'm so glad I was able to see this show. My tears were of joy for this family. These young ladies will go forth in life and be such an asset to others. What wonderful Aunt & Uncle - their hearts are full of love!

It's a sin and a shame how you Harpo employees (PRODUCERS) treat African Americans. I have been checking out the message board for three years straight, on a daily basis and out of those three years, I have read several messages, I know at least ten about a mother who lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, been asking for some assistant for 20 years to acommodate her daughter who is severely handicapped. This mother stated that she sent in over 79,000 emails and 40 video tapes, 20 years straight, begging, I'm talking about begging for Oprah's help. When I turn on my TV today, and saw the family that Nate says they were in despite need of a new home, I couldn't watch the show anymore. From what I've read and heard on the Tom Joiner morning show about this mother who lives in Tennessee, this mother goes out of her way to help elderly people, she been a mentor to students and college students for 15 years by feeding them meals when they have no one to turn to, she give what she can to support them on field trips and uniform along with caring for her daughter. I am totally disappointed with this show, I can't believe Oprah, allows this type of behavior to exist under her roof. If this mother in Tennessee was living out of a ditch with her hair standing on top of her head, maybe she would have gotten some help. I understand why many African Americans refuse to watch the Oprah Winfrey show. Yes I am a female, (white) and it hurts my heart knowing that this type of behavior still exist on this show. I don't know this mother but I fill her pain, sending in that many emails and video tapes, she must have had strong love for Oprah, but Oprah let her down. Out of ten thousand emails, this mother was honored on the Tom Jonier morning show (Black American Web.com) as Thursday's morning mom. From what I have experience today, I will never waste my time watching another Oprah Winfrey show. Only the strong survives, that she will!

Nate those haters are scary. You can hide out up here with me in my birdcage until they calm down...and maybe if you're not doing anything I can pick your brain about redoing my kitchen...

I did enjoy the oprah show today .it was very nice of Oprah and Nate to make that family a dream come true, i see that some people do get touch with what they seen ..and some do have less then what they had...Its not how much or how little people have that really count its realy to have a place to live and food on the table..we all have dream and need and we all wish to be all lucky like some of the gues on the Oprah Show... for my self i rent a appartement where i cant sleep much cause of the noise of people around me and i work creazy hours..and i dont make big salary..and i live by my own ..i had work for 11 years at the lowest salary ever..and i dont have my driver lisence and i dont have the money to get it either..i just make enough to live month by month ..and i feel lucky just to be alive and have a job..and a place where i could sleep..eat...its not the best place ever...but its better then not having a place..and for me when i see show like today ..i am happy to see how it made that family so happy ..and it was very wonderful what they did for the kids the parent gave does kids a chance in there life to have a great life....thank you so much oprah for making that family dream come true..
