Pillars of the Earth and Far Pavilion

This was my second favorite book of all time. It was instantly gripping, and i felt i really got to understand life back then.

I think if people are offended with the way the church was portrayed, then they have their heads in the sand, because that is the way it was, from all the other books i've read. Today, as back then, power and money seem to be what rmakes men act the way they do. Of course , then as now, there are many people who really are altruistic.

I feel Ken Follett really wrote a book that showed what life was like back then. He is a great author, very descriptive, and makes each individual come alive. I look forward to reading it again.

I have read many of Ken's books, and they are all exciting, but to me, this was his finest achievement.

My first favorite book is Far Pavilion, a story about India, in the time of English Rule. What a great book. Written by M.M. Kaye.

she has also written other books that are also very entertaining. i hope Oprah gets an opportunity to read this one. It's big but well worth it.
