Did I get the whole download of Heroic Measures?

I thought the book was really great, but it just cut off at the end in the animal hospital with the nurse saying the animals knew it was time for breakfast. Was that really the end of this book? Has the author just left us to guess? Gosh I hope not! I'd really like to know who they sold the apartment to, among other things... Please tell me if missed something in the download. Thanks!

I had the same issue, I'm really confused because the end point doesn't make any sense......

Wow I just posted the exact same question elsewhere on this board....I thought maybe the download was short a few pages...or if not was I just missing the meaning of the end of the book? I tried to find a copy of it at the bookstore to compare pages but it's not out yet!!! Glad I'm not the only one with this question!

I have the printed version and yes it does end sort of abruptly.

You did NOT get the whole download. The book ends AFTER they sell the apartment. The book was 207 pages long. I was going to give it to my 11 year old grand daughter, who I am trying to get interested in reading, but the last couple of pages make that inappropriate for her. I read the book quickly and enjoyed finding out what happened to the couple and the dog, but this is no classic.

Looking at my downloaded copy, I think the confusion may be caused by the page numbering. There are 207 pages total. The first pages are numbered with a, b, i, ii, etc. The last page of the story is numbered page 193 (nurse saying it is time for breakfast). The last page of the book is numbered 196 and has online bookstores-direct links to purchase the book.

Thanks everybody, I am just getting back to this message board. It's been a busy summer! So, I take it there is more to the story then? I'll have to sneak a peek at the last few pages when I go to the book store. I don't think I would buy the book, but I did enjoy it. I dowloaded the other free book, and still haven't gotten to it.
