I'm with you Lourdes. I have been a fan of Oprah's for over 20 yrs. and her actions have become increasingly perplexing to me over the last few years. Why would there be absolutely NO mention of Michael Jackson on the site, the show, nothing?? Whatever you felt about him, there is no question that he was a huge part of our global community. The major news stations have hardly talked of anything else yet the Oprah Show says NOTHING?? Michael Jackson's fame probably helped her to have the freedom to be who she is. Does the Oprah show realize that since Michael's death 12 of his fans have committed suicide? If there was ever a time when we needed to hear Oprah's comforting voice, it's now. Another story involving Dr. Oz is the last thing we need. Please catch up, Oprah. You're starting to fail us when we need you.

I really hope they reair Oprah's 1993 interview with Michael. It's very hard to find a full, high-quality version online. Harpo has pulled most of the clips off Youtube. I remember it being a fascinating conversation, with Michael opening up about many things people had never heard him discuss publicly before. I think Oprah related to him in many ways, from the childhood abuse to the pressures of being under the media's microscope 24-7.

Who knows, she might make a surprise appearance at his funeral.

Are you saying because its summer Oprah herself couldn't override the repeat and do a telecast? I've seen her do it before.

I am surprised, shocked, and confused on why and how MJ's death has effected me. I was never a huge fan. I enjoyed his music, gawked at his oddities and really never gave him much thought. I don't own any MJ music, though I regret that as I did dance to many of his tunes and loved his videos. In his later years I became increasingly more interested and only recently moreso. When I looked at MJ, I saw a tortured soul, someone very few really knew but everyone felt they had the right to judge. The public feels no pain throwing daggers and calling names. What I noticed recently that despite all the changes in his face, his eyes never changed and with every photo they show, I focus on those big eyes and they made me very sad.

I do not know Oprah, but right now every news media has MJ splattered all over the place. It's sad..and I hope he can rest in peace one day, a peace he deserves, as does anyone who has tried to be a good person and as every person does, has made mistakes.

I am guessing O will have a grand and respectful tribute to MJ when the time is right. She may involve the family, friends and those who loved him and not make a mockery of his life. She is a moral and ethical person and probably feels she does not need to gain benefit on the Jackson family's loss. When the dust has settled, I am placing bets there will be a beautiful memorial to his life.

I would SURE like to know why Oprah is ignoring this.

I find it highly interesting that she is not making any public statement at all!!!

Lets all realize something... his death was lupus related... No matter what he died from, it was truly SLE that forced him to take pain killers, made him an insomiac and live a reclusive life. Every one of you should try learning about LUPUS instead of crying rivers about cancer. I am tired of cancer. Cancer is awful, but at least it is treated much easierand has many more treatment options than lupus does. Sociaty has stood by while a silent killer lurks, most everyone just ignores it!!! You dont understand so you just ignore!!! How dare you. We like to just think Michael Jackson was pale skinned because of his skin disease ... but that is not intirely actuate. So many of you also like ot accuse him of bleaching his skin. That may or may not be true. But I can tell you one thing for sure... he had to take certain medications for lupus which made him increasingly sun sensitive, meaning he could not be in the sun at all, and if he was, he would burn like a lobster and his Lupus would instantly flare... I have SLE and suffer from a ton of real symtoms (this is not some episode from House where it could be "lupus" this is the real deal), I feel horrible for the guy... to think of how shallow millions of people have been to that poor man. You should all be ashamed for not having understanding of what he went though just to entertain the world. He gave you Pop Music, he gave you music videos, he gave you Dance. He gave you 50 years of his life, and none of you know just what kind of pain he hid inside just to make you all happy.

Oprah, you should be ashamed at yourself. You of all people have the power to truly educate the masses, and you lay silent and dumb.

I think...

Oprah will discuss Michael Jackson; however, she will probably use the platform of her show. I look forward to HARPO PRODUCTIONS giving some clarity ( if possible) to it all. I want to understand Michael Jackson's journey on this earth- the good , the bad and the ugly.

Ms.Winfrey never speaks unless it is well thought out and researched; she is aware of the power of her voice and opinion (s). Also, we all know her utter disgust and hatred for child abusers, so I hope that since MJ had a cloud of uncertainty ( even after acquittal) over his legacy; she will not approach this without personal bias but objectivity and fact based discussions.

It would bring back some hope in humanity if Michael Jackson is proven to be this "sweet, God-Fearing, humanitarian" that he portrayed himself, not the manipulative "child abusing' monster that some say he was. If the latter is the case, now he has ( all knowing and all seeing) GOD to face for final judgement. Again, if the latter is true...please, Ms. Winfrey help us understand WHY and HOW he become that way. The impact this man had on the WORLD would be a travesty of TRUST in HUMAN GOODNESS to find out that it was a charade, without an explanation on WHY.

perhaps, unlike every other media site and venue

O would like to allow the family to grieve and bury their son, brother and father

in peace and grace their way, honoring their family member.

those who gawk to see more than the stuff on every channel of tv or radio or internet

what do you want of this family. let them have their time with their member.

I was not a great fan, in fact i have never been a fan of great porportions to any star or singer.

i did enjoy the songs, and felt sorry for the way he was used and abused by the clinger ons and

the media.

they did the same to elvis

let him rest and peace

Maybe you are right that Oprah will discuss about MJ in the coming future, and I can't wait to see that. But what I heard from several people is Oprah probable believes his child molestation crap and have bad feelings about him, and she does not want to say anything about his death. Please tell me if that is true? I love Oprah and I always think of her as spritual and very reasonable person. If she really believes what the media is feeding us all negative about him, I will really be disappointed in her. I hope she is bigger than that , and she waiting moments to experess her feelins about his greatness and what he contributed to the world.

The whole world is mourning Michael Jackson's death, and I also cannot comprehend why Oprah was playing re-runs of a Dr. Oz show. I had previously wondered why I hadn't heard Oprah make any public statements on MJ's death, and now I realize other people have noticed as well. Oprah, I have been a huge fan over the years, but this is inexcusable. I do not want to speculate on the reasons why you have remained silent. But surely you cannot doubt this man has contributed to our planet in a major way, and his life should be celebrated and honored. So many people are broken over his death, good caring people who are respected across the world. You cannot remain silent during this time. I personally do not accept your silence. I expect the death of Michael Jackson to be addressed very soon. To ignore this subject is doing the public a grave disservice that cannot be overlooked.

I love you Michael Jackson and I appreciate how much you have given the planet. I have cried for you and your family for losing you too soon.

Very truly,

Megan
