Public Schools Should Be Closed For Good.

Several reasons why Public Schools Should Be Closed For Good.

1. Bully problems are to big and Schools don't do anything to protect other kids from the bullies.

2. So many schools are in such dire need of repairs the cost is out rageous.

3. Schools are having to close to often do to whether as well as other school building matenance.

4. Schools are over crowed with too many students and not enough teachers.

5. Too many illnesses are spread because of schools.

6. Too many drugs are sold on school grounds.

7. Too many kids are going to schools with guns and other weapons.

8. Too many kids are dropping out, too many kids are not good grades.

9. Too many teachers are having sex or molesting their students.

10. The list keeps growing.

Instead of our government funding public schools, they should fund more home schooling programs, more online schooling programs.

The government should fund more libraries programs.

If you want you child to attend a conventional school program there will still be private schools available, but public schools should be no more.

If you are worried about how will the children learn the important social skills, there could be special government funded programs for social skill programs.

Not only would that be saving our Government money and solve the problem of how to take care of so many Public Schools, but it will also protect our children.

There are ways for working parents to still homeschool their children and there could be special programs for such situations.

For teachers who would be worried that they maybe losing their jobs there are always teaching jobs on line. There are online schools who are looking for dedicated teachers, so teachers will not be losing their jobs.

Some teachers could even maybe start their own online teaching programs as well.

If you say it is impossible, then it is possible.

For the impossible grows into possible.

All the empty school buildings if the Public Schools were to be all closed for good could be fixed up and used as housing for the homeless.

This is all doable.

Time to up date the way we educate our kids.

So many teachers complain that many parents just drop their kids off at school for the free baby sitting and if we just did away with Public Schools then they wouldn't have to worry any more.

Parents, just think of this. What a wonderful way to bond with your kids?!

Especially if the government were to fund home schooling instead of funding public schools. That could make it more afford able all the way around and I honestly believe this would be a WIN-WIN for all.

Just today in the Detroit Freepress was an article titled.

"Teacher charged with criminal sexual conduct"

Which makes another good point to close public schools for good. Why must we continue to put children in such dangers?

You can close the public schools in your town if you wish but leave mine alone. My kids are getting a great education at our neighborhood public school. I would have to quite my job and stay home to home school my kids. Not that I wouldn't love to stay home with them, but I'm not sure how I would feed, clothe, and shelter us while home schooling. Overall public schools are safe and effective. I would wager that a child is more likely to be sexually assaulted at church than school.

I'm sorry you don't have good public schools where you are. Perhaps we should join the PTA, get elected to the school board, or write our elected leaders for change in public schools. I can't imagine the state of our country if we closed public schools. There would be far too many children who would go uneducated. Think of all the parents who won't help their kids with homework or attend teacher parent conferences or open houses. Can you imagine them taking the time to educate their kids? It is parents like that who spoil the public school system as it is.

Today's news report was about more schools closing because of the flu. On GMA this morning Chris Cuomo reported on very serious abuse that is taking place with the special needs kids as the victims and the teachers as the perpetrators.

Another reason why public schools should close for good.

The government needs to stop funding public schools and fund home schooling programs.

For those who insist their children attend school out side your home, enroll them into a private school.

I am a low income mom and I am home schooling my son.

What will kids do when home schooling and private schools aren't an option? Will they just go uneducated? What would their future look like?

No they won't go uneducated, especially if the government were to fund home schooling programs. If they also help the families with a stay at home parent then it would make it even more easier to home school our kids.

When kids are not in school because they are closed for reasons of illnesses, they are not being educated, when the schools have to close because of the weather, building matainance, teachers going on strike, kids are not being educated.

peacemama, if the government were to fund more home schooling programs, and were to help you to stay at home with your kids would you take them up on it?

This is what we parents need to ask Congress to do for us. Public schools are not working.

With all these new testing's that the kids have to take now, to see how well they are learning. These test are also to see how well these teachers are doing their jobs and a lot (I am not saying all schools, but most) are failing. Our kids are not getting the education that they deserve now.

Right now in Detroit the government are closing an enormous amount of schools, same with Pontiac Michigan. I lose count how many school buildings I pass in my car that are boarded up and closed. Kids are not being educated now as it is.

We need our government to fund more home schooling programs and we need our government to support families with a stay at home parent.

We can't just sit by and let our kids suffer because of the schools not doing their jobs.

This is also why, using your reasoning, that the Catholic Church should be closed for good!

We should probably end the social practice of families as well, since MOST CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE occurs within a home setting, and the perpetrator is usually a family member or family friend!!!

I would rather my children be taught by professional teachers with years of education and experience in educating children. I am happy to teach my kids about life, love, and being a good citizen but I suck at math. There are far too many parents out there who would not and/or could not give their children a quality education. Why not get involved in your child's school if you want to improve their education. If we all did our part to assist the professionals with the task of educating our children we would be successful. We have to think about not only our own kids but everyone else's kids too. There are plenty of people out there who need help with education. Home schooling and private schools are viable for a select few even with government assistance. There is no reason at all why we can't use the facilities we already have to educate our children. We just need to come together as a community and work towards quality education. It must be made a priority. We have to demand excellence out of what we already have. Isn't that what you do everyday in your own life?

I left the Catholic Church years ago, it would not bother me if they were all closed. But that is another thread topic that you should start in here.

This thread topic is not about the Catholic Church, it is about closing Public Schools for good.

I suck at math too, but there are wonderful loving people at my church who are helping my son with his math. They are also helping me to get better with my math as well.

There is no excuse why we need to pay taxes to keep public schools open. Most of them are falling apart, the growing number of reports of teachers sexually abusing their students, there is a growing number of reports of teachers physically abusing their students especially the special needs students, there is a growing number of kids bullying other kids and the bullying is getting more and more aggressive, students are coming to school with weapons, students are going on shooting sprees in the schools, teachers and other school staff are not doing enough to protect kids from the bullies, kids are being attacked on the school buses and the school bus driver does not even stop the bus to stop it, the schools have a huge problem with drugs, kids are dropping out as it is, schools are failing to teach the kids properly (most schools have failed those tests the government gives the schools and students and most of them have failing grades). Schools are being closed down because of illnesses, schools are being closed down permanently in cities across the country as it is. Why not just close ALL public schools? Why not just end government funding for public schools and fund home schooling programs instead? If they were to fund home schooling programs kids could get a great education. Teachers could find online teaching jobs.

I say just close all public schools for good, let the private schools remain open for parents who insist on closing their eyes to the problems of public schools and other schools outside their homes.

Stop funding public schools, they are not working.

I myself did not do very well in schools and none of my teachers took the time to help me, they did not take the time to help other students who also had struggles.

They all just focused on the students who had an easier time, and ignored the other students.

Start funding home schooling programs.

Closing public schools is definitely not the answer to the problems that are typically found within the public school systems in the country. I like that public schools put kids in situations where they develop problem solving skills and reasoning schools. It's a prepatory step for survivng in the real world. I've personally been very satisfied with the public school system in my area. Granted, it's not perfect and there are various problems that need resolving--but the solution to resolving those problems and addressing concerns is communication and a unified movement to address those problems.

I respect every family that decides to home school their child. I respect that they have reasons why they feel it is best for their child. But it's presumptous to say that homeschooling or online schooling is fit for every child.

Also, there are so many children in poor, less developed communities which rely heavily on the services provided through the public school system. If public schools ceased to exist what do you think would happen to them??
