Hello,
I've always been a walker buthave started jogging for 20 of the 40 minutes a day that I exercise. I did this for a few reasons. One being that I typically don't dream (have had only about 25 memorable dreams in the past 10 years), but dream every night after I jog. Additionally, it does help with anxiety and depression which is part of my life. So my reason primary reason for jogging is not weight loss, but is for mental health. The problem is whenever I participate in an aerobic activity, especially jogging, I gain weight and that weight is heavily concentrated in my thighs and behind. I not eating any more than usual, in fact, I'm taking in slightly less because when I'm less anxious I eat less. I am 5'3" and weigh, without being on an aerobic program, around 116 which is proportionally great for me and I don't get usually get sick so I think it's a physically good weight too. When I jog, my lower half bulks up and I get puffy with with extra weight. I usually quit after I've gained 4-5 lbs, which is usually about a month or month and a half because it becomes uncomfortable.
