resveratrol ultra

Posted on Apr 16, 2009 2:03 PM

I ordered the "free trial offer" of Resveratrol Ultra based on internet raves on both Oprah & 60 Minutes. The offer stated I only had to pay

for shipping & handling & my account was charged 4.50. Shortly thereafter, I rec'd a bottle of 60 pills ( 1 month supply). Approximately

1 week after that, my bank account was charged 87.13 for this product. When I called the customer service number, they said that the

ad specified that if I did not return the product in 14 days, I would be charged the full price. I pulled the ad back up, and nowhere on this

ad did it state anything of the kind. I feel I was ripped off & that this ad is very deceiving. I have always trusted & respected anything

connected to the Oprah Show & am very disappointed as this is alot of money for me to have to pay.

I had the same experience, and in looking online at others who offer this product, the price that I ended up paying of 87.13 just about floored both my husband and I. When I checked my bank balance and saw that I was overdrawn, it sickened me and made me feel like I was sucked into a scam. They should never advertise Resveratrol Ultra as a FREE TRIAL. Nothing free about it.

When I called the number the man explained it, noting the fifteen day cut off date for the trial, and yet, the order was never posted until the 6th, and the charge came in on the 17th, which was not even the 15 days.

Very very upsetting to say the very least, and I'm wondering if Oprah and Dr. Oz are aware of this glaring rip off going on.

So sorry I got sucked into this situation.

I too was dooped. Luckily and thanks to your comment, I plan to return my Free Trial bottle and am within the 14 days. Hopefully, that will eliminate the possibility of being charged the $87.13. My story is a little different. I never even placed the order. I started to order it and put in my info expecting to pay $3.95 for shipping and handling. But when I saw it was a subscription plan, I backed out all the info and never even submitted the order for the Free Trial bottle. My bank charges at this point are $1.95, 2.00, .02 and .02. Four charges for one bottle that I never ordered in the first place. Buyer beware! Can't we at least report this as abuse (I think that was the termonology I saw). Hopefully, we can stop this as it is totally wrong. Would it help to report it to the Better Business Bureau? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how we can stop it?

Ditto here....my Order arrived in the mail today....as I was doing some searching before actually starting to take this product I came across this posting along with others here. Needless to say I kicked myself immediately for not doing some looking first. Never would have placed the order if I had. I immediately called the company (SWM Labs) to get the RMA needed to return the product today. I was able to get my account cancelled (with confirmation number) and was told that I did not need to actually return the product since I had already been charged the S&H but that no further shipments or charges would be placed. I am still a little scared that I may be charged for this bottle of pills if I don't return it but can't without the proper RMA. Has anyone else cancelled their accounts and still kept the pills?

Also very sorry I didn't fully read what I was getting into.

Thank you for these reviews. I believe you have saved me a lot of money. I recently received my FREE trial offer. So far I have been impressed with the product. However I read the ads carefully before ordering and nowhere did it mention an account would be opened or what subsequent charges would be. I also feel ads are misleading and have cancelled. Has anyone tried any of the other resveratrol products available (much cheaper)

Reply Resveratrol Ultra- What I did was order 2 bottles addressed to different homes(one being my parents), the day after I recieved it, I called and cancelled making sure to get a confirmation #. I was only charged 3.95 for that order, when he asked me the reason for cancel, I told him I wanted to make sure I was not charged full price until I was sure product worked. After that I would resume my order. Tomorrow I will do the same thing on the other order, this gives my husbnd and I 30 full days to see if product truly works. He did tell me if for some reason I was charged to call back with conf #. But he reassured me that he had cancelled my cc #. So in 30 days I will let ya know how it goes. Hope this helps a little, you just have to really stay on top of it, don't wait for the 10-15 days grace period and no you do not have to send the product back, they tell you to keep it. What I found was that you had to look under the Terms and Conditions link at the bottom of the order form to see where by agreeing to get the free trial you are also signing up for a monthly membership to receive this product. I did call back and talk to another representative since I was a little leary of being told not to return the order. The Terms and Conditions says that a call and product return is required but I was again assured that I did not need to return the pills and that my account had been cancelled. I also was very glad when I saw the reviews here and could make that call to insure I wasn't being charged for a product I am not even sure I want. So I am now feeling pretty good about actually trying the pills for the 30 days. Any further decision will wait for the end of my trial. I appreciated very much getting input from this message board, its the very first time I have tried this route to get information. Thanks to all.

My story remains different than all the others. My biggest concern about this company is how they processed an order that I never placed. As I previously stated, I backed out all my info and never submitted an order as soon as I saw it was a subscription plan. Therefore, I had no order # or confirmation #. I can't even find where I started to place the order in the first place since I just clicked on a link that is no longer there. I have no idea of the Terms and Conditions, but when I called today, they did say I do not need to return the Free Trial bottle and assured me there would be no additional charges. I also got the cancellation confirmation # as I was not given the # when I first called to find out why the order was processed when I did not complete the order. Has anyone else had this experience? It is scary to me to think that when you start to order anything online, but don't go thru with it that all your personal info is already captured.

I admit this is a scary senario.....in my case I did finish the order so I knew I would be getting the pills. I am glad you were able to get the cancellation and your unwanted account cancelled. I will be more careful next time I an looking into buying something on-line. There has to be an explanation on why your incomplete order was processed as completed but I have no idea what that might be.

Good luck finding the answers.

I called SWM Labs several times and they kept telling me the same story that it has been shipped. Today l am on the phone with them right now and cancelled the order. Dr Oz perhaps you should check this comapany out. Does any one know where I` can purchase the Resveratrol Ultra from a reputable company I would like to know.

I had the same problem with Reservatrol Ultra. I was charged $4.00 and received the pills many days later. After having it inmy possession for 3 days, I thought I developed a reaction to the reservatrol. I had some heart palpitations and didn't know if there was an drug interaction with my other medications. When I called the company, I held on for close to 15 minutes until a foreign sounding gentleman came on the phone. He mentioned the 14 day return policy. I told him I only had it for 3 days. They had already charged me $87.13 ANDa $2.61 FOREIGN TRANSACTION CHARGE.

Although the phone # and address of the company is in Florida, the charge was coming from overseas somewhere. I was very persistent with the gentleman on the phone and spoke with a supervisor. After a week to 10 days, I was givcen a full refund for the $87.13, and my bank refunded the "foreign transaction fee". I told them that I was contacting the Better Business Bureau, and questioned them over and over asbout the location of their company.

Every time I called, the same customer representative gentleman , and the same female supervisor came on the phone. This company is a scam. I thought that Dr. Oz had endorsed the product. Does he know that this is going on? I trust his judgment, and this company is doing damage to his reputation by their false advertising.

I had the same experience the website calls it a free 15 day sample .But what they don¿t tell you it 15 days from the time you order it .then they deduct it from you account $87.13 When it called to find out what was going on the do not have anyone who speaks good english. they hide the term & condition on the website. Is there any reputable company's that sell this product ? What a scam I'm not a happy camper!!!!!!!!

I just did the same thing. but, the customer service person did not tell me to return the bottle. I also asked her if my account to going to be charged and she said no. because i had cancel before the 15 day period. we'll see what happends.

If Dr. Oz or Oprah are reading these emails, maybe he or she should guide us on how to buy it and from who so we all can get the real deal here.......... I just got my bottle today and the only thing it has from Resveratrol is 20% how good is that??????

If you go back and look at the video clip of Dr. Oz's visit on Oprah (you can find it with a youtube search), you'll find that Dr. Oz does not recommend a specific brand. I got caught in that scam too when I did an internet search on "dr. oz resveratrol" and it directed me to a bunch of sites that wind up in that Resveratrol Ultra website. They have it set up so it looks like Dr. Oz is recommending their product. You can go to your local health food store and find it much cheaper. You'll probably have to take more than one pill, depending on the milligrams, but try to find a standardized brand so you can feel more confident in the quality. ( It would be helpful if Dr. Oz would tell us the brand he takes or the dosage he recommends!)

I was also duped by the advertisement showing the resveratrol was endorsed by Dr. Oz & Oprah. There was no mention of the 15day trial & return of product. The company said there was a terms & conditions link that must be clicked on to show the 15days, I did not see that link when ordering. When I called after the $88.00 was charged to my account, a person with limited English canceled my account but said the charge was not refundable. I feel I was ripped off by the deceiving ad too. I explained to the company that my doctor said the product would interfere with my cholesterol medication, but still no refund.

I had exactly the same experience with the highly touted 'free' sample of Resveratrol Ultra, which I ordered on 4/15. I was charged an unauthorized $87.13 on 5/5 for the privilege of trying it. I am nauseated by this experience. There seems to be little that can be done according to my bank. There is small print- and I mean small- which you have to dig to find, which indicates that what has happened here is not illegal. However, it is certainly immoral- and SHOULD be illegal.

I highly respect the good that Oprah and Dr Oz do in the world- and I can't imagine they like having their name connected to such a scam. I would respectfully ask Oprah to make this scam public- as a courtesy to the thousands of her viewers who have already been ripped off. I really don't think that either she, or Dr Oz, should divorce themselves from this issue entirely.

I will never order anything of the sort again- and never would have to begin with had it not been so touted on Oprah's show by Dr Oz.. I feel so violated....
