While I am not always keen on having good books made into movies, this book might be fun up on the big screen. I had mentioned on the Waleran thread that I thought that 'Snape' would make the perfect Bigod. So my question to everyone -what about the other characters? Who would play whom?

Tom - David Morse or Sean Bean or Liam Neeson
Ellen - Angelina Jolie
Agnes - Julia Walters
Young Jack - Rupert Grint
Older Jack - James or Oliver Phelps (gosh..there is a pattern developing here...)
Philip -Viggo Mortensen or Sean Bean
Francis - Sean Bean or Viggo
Alfred - Jake Busey
William - Kevin McKidd
Aliena - Kiera Knightly
Martha - Dakota Fanning
Waleran - Alan Rickman
Stephen - Sean Connery
Maud - Julie Andrews

Who am I missing?

I would love to throw in Daniel Craig and Clive Owen too...but just because I love to watch them on the screen.

Anyone else 'see' this in their minds?

AHHHH! How could I forget??? ADRIAN BRODY as Waleran!!! Perfect, part was MADE for him.

I would love to see Scarlett Johansson as Aliena, Adrian Brody as Walrean, Daniel Radcliffe as Richard, and...Christina Ricci as Ellen! I know she is younger than Angelina Jolie, but she is only supposed to be 15 when she has Jack, so for the earlier parts she would be good...she has a widow's peak, she's small, and I think she has an other-wordly quality about her. Add some golden colored contacts and she is my image of what I picture Ellen to be. I think Angelina Jolie would be a bit over the top...but that's because I just saw the movie Alexander and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I could think of other actors...but I do love Sean Bean, Clive Owen, Daniel Craig, and Gerard Butler! Also, Ewan McGregor...maybe as Phillip? I'd see it. :)

Also, I think Jack might have to be an unknown actor...at least for me. :)

Natalie Portman would be tremendous as Aliena.

Steve Buschemi might make a good Waleran, he is quite weasely, but I don't know if he could pull off intimidating very well, though John Malcovich would be awesome too (kind of extreme differences...) What's Tim Curry doing these days?

Cate Blanchett would be a possibility for Ellen I think, Christina Ricci might be an ok choice, but I still think of her as Wednesday Adams...

someone said Jude Law for Jack, I can see that

I feel like we need to get Micheal Cane in on this action too.- Archbishop Becker?

I like the idea of Phillip Seymor Hoffman as Percy Hamleigh

What about Carey Elwes as William Hamleigh?
