how many of these messy house type shows are there going to be in an Oprah show's lifetime???

These shows are so over-played. I'd like to see some more original show ideas.

If you are not mature enough, old enough or intelligent enough to keep your home clean and organized, and need a talk show to teach you how to do so, then maybe you should be still living at home with mommy and daddy.

And it always astonishes me why some poor people blame their financial status on their messy houses.... just because you're poor doesn't mean you can't take a minute to take out the garbage or wash the dishes.

Thank You Oprah

Just widowed last month after 37 years of a lonely marriage .... sadly, i feel i am starting a new life.... i feel so guilty that i am moving forward so fast.. but i truly realized that i was more angry than sad... he left me very little good memories.... i wish i could grieve more... i took good care of him the last 18 months when he was diagnosed with terminal misothelioma (lung cancer) . i do not feel in any way that i did not serve him to the very best of my capabilities and in very good concience and spirit. but now i feel free.... i am de-cluttering my home to the maximum... i am taking care of me... i am diabetic and had gone totally bezerk during his illness... i became over weight and look a mess.... not any more... i cut my hair, got a new look, lost weight, still putting my house in order and i will live again... i am not seeking any other man.. i will enjoy my freedom till the end... it is sad.... so sad.... but i feel liberated...

Dear Oprah:

Thanks for continuing to do these "clutter" shows. I do realize that the cluttered rooms in my home are symptomatic of a clutterred and too busy life and a cluttered mind. My stuff is getting in the way of what's really important to me like my family and friends. People are so much more important than "things".

I want my home to be a place where I can have friends over - either planned or not but I don't because of the clutter. I know for myself I save "stuff" because I'm very sentimental and the things evoke memories for me.

I've got lots to learn in this area - I want a calm and rich life but with less stuff.......SBW

Dear Oprah,

Thank you for chosing a fresh subjects and new idea and share with us. Yes home is the place to have a rest and get fresh weather and good relax but what about if it's not like that!!! Messy house is like a jail and can't breathe your lungs and relax yourselve.

But i wonder that people in Middle East especially Arab people like decoration and they bought a lot of things which leads to messy house because it needs to clean and arrange it all the time while there is only time for you to have a relax at home not get bussy with washing it???? that's lead to messy house, sure.

Yes a calm and clean breath with less stuff.

Did the messy car couple find their brain in their car? They have an asmatic child (oh, found my child's inhaler-ha ha) and yet allow him to ride in their dusty mold infested car. Heartless to the point of serious child neglect!

Did I hear her say twice she had lost "custom made Nike's"? Add gross over consumption and serious traffic hazard to this clueless thoughtless mother.

I love watching shows on cleaning up clutter. It has helped me to keep my home clutter free, however the problem is my mother-in-law is a pack rat and no matter what we do, her home never changes. We have given her books, offered to help her clean it up, but nothing has worked. How are we able to give her the motivation to get her home decluttered?

It seems to me that one of the reasons for such messiness is that people just have too much stuff to keep up with. It really is a great feeling to simplify your possessions so that they don't own your life and time. These people must spend inordinate amounts of money and time buying stuff which they then cannot keep up with. We need to stop being a nation of mindless consumers!!

EXACTLY! This woman was dumber than a rock. The husband was embarrassed and I don't blame him.

She acted as if all the clutter was cute and just a silly quirk. No, it was filthy, and that's what filthy people live in. Her poor kids must be living in utter chaos, as scattered and dumb as she is.

I agree with you on most of your points, how ever I do like the fact that Oprah has the show's of messy houses, cars whatever mess! No, I'm not a messy person . but I am quite surprised every time I see one of these show's. ( a warped sense of curiosity) lol . Maybe it actually gives me a sence of peace that I don't have to deal with such a mess. Also I like the idea's , Always look forward to some idea's in organization.

{color:#800080}I{color:#800080} really enjoy these shows. This problem has been the bane of my existance. However I wish I could have a longer and more detailed look at what precisely was changed and what all the different solutions were. I know we see the before and after and that is really inspiring. I need to see the specifics up close and personal so that I can get ideas that I can use. Also I would like more ideas for little and no budget for storage bones. Thank you.

hai oprah

Right now I am watching your show on TV. My name is Sridevi. I am a part time student with two kids. I am graduating this May. But when I look at my home which is messy I really feel verybad but do not have time for everything. I don't have any family here. I need to do things by myself.

"KEEPING HOME CLEAN AND ORGANISED" is really a good topic but aren't we missing something. How teach to ur spouse and kids(7 and above) would be really helpful. The effort only one partner to keep the home clean make them tied. This is what going on at my place. I used to clean and clean...........and clean. But due to my college schedule I don't find any time now. Next time please show how convince your better half and kids to clean.

thanks

sridevi

That women's face when she saw her car on stage, she was not happy. How can a car get that messy? They couldn't even fit everyone in it anymore. Why couldn't they just pull everything out and put the stuff away or throw it away?

Let me understand this; the boys were smart enough to get into Georgia Tech but it never ocurred to all three of them to buy a few garbage cans for their trash? C'mon. Grow up and be adults.

Sadly, the kids featured on the show were sent off to school without too many life skills. Who is to blame?
