(Hi redsox28! I remember you from some political discussions here
)
I suspect that the free gift may be a free book download. Oprah has done a few of those and it wouldn't involve $$$ .)
I would be happy and grateful for that!!!!
I just got an email from The Container Store promoting Wednesday's show. Maybe it's a free gift from them.
Unfortunately, there is no Container Store within 300 miles of me : (
Maybe you could get something free from them online, but gee, they would probably get a million hits or more, so that wouldn't be a very good idea. And I don't consider a free-gift-with-purchase a FREE gift.
Well,we'll keep our fingers crossed. It will be our little Favorite Things consolation since I don't think I'll get picked for THAT show!
Ok- I keep cringing when I read this one. I keep visualizing Peter Walsh knocking on doors, and what that'd be like for my neighborhood.
He'd come up to my side door through the garage. NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO. Correction, he'd trip at least 4 times on the way to the door through the garage. So what if I have lived her for 5 years. You can park 1 whole car in the 2 plus car garage. (Rationalizing queen I am!)
I think a step by step plan sounds great. It's too overwhelming otherwise. I also cannot ever get my bedroom and closet even halfway decent.
Luckily the middle of the house is decent to me. Often folks are quite taken aback by my house- clean but cluttered. One time some folks I don't know well came by and said "oh..... it's ....... um....... lived in." So trying to be nice. It was sort of funny really.
Will I ever get my house organized? Probably not until I run out of excuses... I keep rationalizing cause you know it ain't half as bad as the hoarding house from Oprah's show last year. I might though make half the amount of their yard sale if I had a garage sale......
Man, this would be so embarrassing if anyone knew who I was. Back to my land of utter I mean clutter denial.......
Night all...

I'm so excited to see this show; I'm just getting over dealing with an illness that has left me depressed, weakened, and suffering from extreme fatigue -- and my apartment SHOWS it! My child (who is no longer a child but will always be "my baby"
) has even expressed concern because she knows that this chaos in which I've been living is SO not me!
I don't know how long it will take me to get it back to the nice clean welcome space that I'm used to having, but I'm hoping for some tips and inspiration from the show. Thanks, Miss Oprah!
These type of shows always make me feel better about myself- "At least my house doesn't look THAT bad" It seems like my clutter rotates- I clean my closets and it goes to the basement, then the garage, then back to the closet... but at least it's always out of sight.
My problem have always been paper. I also suffer from ADHD and sometimes I feel extremely stress when I attempt to "organize my guest room" and keep paper off my kitchen counter. A friend suggested I do something everyday. I am a morning person. I am planning to give a few books for the holidays. I usually have family over for Thanksgiving and I usually stress out cleaning days before my guest arrives. Only to have the mess return by Saturday.
Any suggestions?

HELP! I need your help. My house is filled with clutter. I tried for years to keep up but my wife keeps everything.
So I finally gave up about 3 years ago, its very frustrating, and it has rubbed off on me. I have an issue with important papers and what I can and cannot toss. If i had an industrial shredder I could get rid of lots but I am pass the point of a personal shredder.
PLEASE HELP me and my family get it together

I would love to have someone organize my house but most of all, I need to do something with all my photos. I have so much of them that I feel overwhelmed trying to figure out how to start. Maybe this show will help.:p
I just saw that woman in New York who had a clutter problem with her master bedroom and closet.....I saw myself in her!
I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids and I am just so overwhelmed with all the clutter. What that lady said about teaching to her kids the value of how to take care of our things struck me to the core. I have tried so many times to de-clutter, but everytime I try to do it, I end up stopping in the middle of it all because I feel so overwhelmed to the max...then I freeze....and I end up stuffing the clutter into drawers or closets or cabinets so I do not "see" it. I really need help to start organizing and de-clutter my life because I feel suffocated by the thought of this daunting task and I feel that it is slowly affecting my peace of mind and self esteem. I would really want to teach my kids how to better value our things more than just tell them that their Dad had to work very hard to get what we have now. I am seeing them also start having bad habits with their own stuff which makes me even feel guilty and think I am not being a good Mom waaaah!!! I hope I can learn more from this Clean Up series in Oprah's show. Thank you for doing this. I hope this is the help I need.
What do I do with the 6 boxes of photograohs that i have inherited from my parents and uncle/.aunts?
I have started with scrapbooking but that method doesn;t seem to use many. My mom;s photograph album dating to 1940's and 50's are falling apart. I have tried ot organize by family in small boxes but am still overwhelmed.
My sister and I trade back and forth a box but nothing seems to disappear or organize
