Autism Support Board - My 10 year old son diagnosed with AS

thank you so much for having the show today about autism. I recently took my son to see a psychology because his teacher say's his High IQ does not match with his performance at school. Inspite of him being in the advance program, he always had difficulty finishing his project promptly, copying notes from the black board , he is not aware of his surroundings, marches to his on beat and has difficulty communicating with his peers. This has been an ongoing issue for the last 2 years with my son and finally, when we met the psychology, he was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. I had given his diagnostic report to the school and they will meet to discuss his IEP. My question is, should my son do further psychological testing to confirm his AS? Aside from joining social group, what else can we do? We need guidance and I don't seem to find it here. Most of the psychologist and other doctors we contacted are booked and can't see my son until much later. We need to help him now before he goes to middle school next year.

Also, I have 3 other sons and like Holly Robinson Peete, my 10 year old with AS has a twin brother. Holly, how do you handle your twin boys personality and playdates? I always find my other son to be more sociable and have more friends. I always feel bad that my son with AS does not get invited to parties and playdate as much as his brother. Since both of them have same group of friends, their peers tend to ignore my son with AS. What should I do?

thanks for your help and being at Oprah today.
