took the words right out of my mouth. There isn't always some secret agenda. I am pretty sure Oprah has been a supporter of children's rights for quite some time now. To imply that this show was just another plug for Obama is ridiculous.

God bless you for your strength. Your work is the worst job in America and the most improtant . Thank you, thank you, thank you infinity. Also, may god save a place for you at her/his side when you leave this planet.

I am MOURNING the current condition of our children's safety. The PROTECT Our Children Act is an important step towards the right direction, but our country has a long way to go. Our children need laws to protect and speak for them. It is OUR responsibility to speak out and take action. Children do not have the voice that we do, so we MUST FIGHT to protect their innocence.

This topic has struck a cord with me and I will do EVERYTHING in my power, to keep our children's rights moving forward.

Suggestion to ALL: I composed an email with the items off of Oprah's website and sent it to ALL of my friends, allowing them to contribute quickly to their state senator.

Well I just emailed the state senators of NV asking them to please pass the 3344 bill. i hope it helps. it went a little something like this. tell me what you think. Im not very good at writing letters. i dont really know what to say but here it is.

Dear Senator:

The United States Constitution starts out 'We the People...' well we the people believe that our children are the most important thing in this world. They are our future and if we dont protect our future then we have NOTHING.

As you probably know on the Oprah Winfrey show she enlightened the world about the sick people that we have everywhere in this country. They do the most disgusting things to children and its an outrage. I cant believe its not the number one thing that is being taken care of. As a mother of 2 young boys I am in fear for their lives now, since you dont know who, or what is living next door. I have heard of a Bill that is in desparate need of being passed. It is the S-3344 Bill. It will give funding for law enforcement to go get these sick people. I fear if nothing is done, people will take this matter in their own hands. Please I am begging you for the sake of all the abused children out there to pass this bill so they may have some hope for the future. PLEASE.

I knew that they were out there but I had no idea how horrible it really was. As a mother and an older sister to a twelve year old and twin six year-olds it really opened my eyes. And to think that my child is the age of the baby that was shown breaks my heart. After that show I wrote my senator and sent emails, text messages and posted a message on my myspace for my friends and family to do the same.

I too didn't sleep after seeing this show and have cried every time I think about it or tell someone about it. The feeling is of complete despair and I wish I could do more than write my Senator's a letter. I urge anyone to write to the two Presidential Candidates a letter as well. If they get enough letters about this issue they may take a stand on this Bill/issue as well. And one of these gentlemen, whether we like it or not, is going to be President. I think they need to know that there are lots of people outraged and our children who aren't even able to speak yet, don't have a voice unless we voice it for them.

I, for one, am sick of all of the overpaid actors/actresses raising awareness for every country but our own. I am proud to be an American and don't think it should be a dirty phrase to say. I think their voices should be raised for the children of our OWN COUNTRY.

I also urge anyone that wants to do something to volunteer. It is amazing what can be done at a local level by showing up and helping a child.

What the hell does that mean?

i must say i have never been so disgusted in all my life...i am a 22yr old mother with a 2yr old daughter and a 5mo old son and when i was watching your show i had them sleeping next to me for there afternoon nap and i could'nt help but look at them and wonder how the hell some sick people can get off on such sweet innocent and PURE souls ....i am canadain and i wish your show showed more what we can do here as a nation ....because nobody old or young deserves that disgusting crap.........i have never felt so helpless, sadness and pain from a show...........keep it up you guys you are their voice keep it strong ........and let those sick bastards know they WON'T and CAN'T WIN!!!

I can answer the question...How bad is it? In May of 2007 I discovered a plethora of child pornography on my home computer. My husband of seven years had been downloading child pornography. I have no idea how long it had been going on. Our marriage was already in trouble and now I understood why. We also share a daughter. She's 5 1/2 now. She was four at the time. I also have a son from my first marriage. He's fifteen now. I of course totally lost it, my first thoughts of my daughter and my son. I knew he had to go. I filed for divorce and in two days he was out of the house. Well sort of....our house had a mother-in-law suite. So he moved to the other side with his father. My son and I changed the locks on our side. We lived like this for eight months. It was torture, pure torture. We had built our home on two acres my parents had given to me before we married. My parents had then built on the remaining eight acres next door. My parents were so horrified, they built a home for my children and me on the same eight acres. That's why we had to remain under the same roof for eight months. We were waiting for our new home to be built. During this time I was forced to allow my daughter to go see her father in the mother-in-law suite. The only stipulations being that I must be home during the visits, not in the same room and he could not take her off of the property. I was threatened with "parental alienation" should I not give them time alone. Forget the fact that I had seen pictures of little girls as young as seven on my computer. I put my daughter in therapy where she has since disclosed some very disturbing things. He has shown her magazines of men and woman having sex and "men kissing ladies 'lockies' " as she calls it. He has taught her to stimulate herself and to even practice it on his stomach. She has told me and her therapist that he has touched her "locky" and pinched it and that it hurt. This man is a predator. He was arrested on April 9 of this year by the Louisiana Attorney General's High Tech Crime Unit. The problem is that he was only arrested on one count. They then turned over the file to the local DA's office who raised the charges to 304 counts of pornography with a juvenile. This happened on May 20. He was not rearrested and still remains out on the original bond of $25,000 that was imposed for the one count. At his arraignment and pre-trial motion on August 19 he was allowed to stay out of jail with the stipulations that he could not have contact with a juvenile, except our daughter because that was a custody issue being fought in another court. He can't have a camera phone, or digital camera of any kind. He also is not allowed to use the intrnet except at work for strickly work purposes. However, there is no one to police these restrictions. He still lives next door and has made no attempt to see our daughter or phone her since March. This is of course fine by me. She however, sees him in the yard occasionally and cannot understand why he makes no attempt to see her. You see she was groomed by him just like they said on your show. She has no real idea of the deep injustice and harm he has done to her. She knows something was not right but to her they just played like two kids. Nothing has been done about my daughter's disclosures because for one thing she wouldn't talk to a complete stranger in front of a camera and tell them her daddy had done these things. And to add insult to injury the psychologist that did the custody evaluation saw no sign of child abuse. She met with my daughter a total of maybe six to eight hours. How can she possibly pass this judgement? Her $3200 report was full of grammatical errors. She had the names of some of the people she interviewed wrong. And to put the icing on the cake...she had my daughter's age different throughout the report. However, because of some of her statements in her report the investigator and Assistant DA decided to close the case with no conclusion. It can be reopened. I really don't know why he is still running free. Why is he still being allowed to live next door? He has also stopped paying the mortgage on our home which we have a court order stating that he would continue to pay the house note in lieu of child support and interim support. This man, this creep joined Match.com only two weeks after I filed for divorce. He even posted a picture of our house on his profile. And the children and I were still living in it! He still dates and it my biggest fear that these women may have daughters! And they have no clue. There was an article in a small local paper but that's it. Needless to say the harm that these men perpetrate is far reaching. It affects whole families not the victim alone. Yet the law seems to be protecting him. I don't understand why. Yesterday I immediately went to Oprah.com and sent an email to my legislators. And I sent an email to all of my friends and family imploring them to do the same. Thank you for doing this show and letting America see what a serious and growing problem this is.

You MUST do another show....now. I know that this is REAL change.

I was raped too. All I can say is help others, tell the world it, will set you free. I the same happened to me from 3 or 4 , I thought that if I didn't tell anyone, it would be like it never happened. I saw the show and it made me realize that I must tell everyone what happened to me. Its like the shame we feel, is making it continue. It will be hard, but could you think of what could happen if we all came together. 1 in 3 of us is abused. We can really get these guys and heal us at the same time.

This is my first post on Oprah.com, but I need to find out how I can make a personal donation to end this horrific problem. I have written to both of my congressmen, but I just don't feel like that is enough. If there is a fund setup for this purpose, please let your viewers know and I am sure we can fund this, even if the government cannot. WE MUST END THIS NOW!! Let us know what else we can do!!!
