Hello,
I have read A New Earth and The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle as well as listened to Esther Hicks regarding the Law Of Attraction. I am a bit confused after reading and listening to both. Eckhart Tolle guide's us to live in the moment and Esther and Jerry Hicks guide us to look to the future for our hopes and our dreams. I have truly enjoyed Eckhart's teachings as well as Esther Hicks, but I am affraid I am perceiving them to be contradicting one another. Can someone else give a point of view that may help? :0)
I have been to A-H workshops and have read most of their books as well as getting daily quotes. I do not think that they are asking you to look to the future. I believe that they are saying that what your thoughts/feelings are NOW will be felt/ realized in the future. That future can be 5 seconds from NOW. If you go to their website: www.abraham-hicks.com you can read more. You can subscribe to their free daily quotes.
Depending upon our level of belief/thoughts/feelings can affect how quickly we can manifest what we want. If we have contradictions going on the manifestation of what we want can take longer to achieve and that may seem to you that they are guiding us to look to the future.
I think Eckhart and Abraham are saying the exact same thing.
Hope this helps.

I had the same feeling that the two authors have at times, contradicting approaches. I had been an Esther/ Abraham fan for quite sometime first, before reading ANE. I had SOOOO much trouble with getting into the extreme detailing and analyzing of every little aspect of the ego and then going into what I felt was more of a duality focus of good vs. bad in labeling the ego. I kept thinking...but with Abraham...who cares about all this? Go find your bliss...it doesn't matter what held you back from it before, just go find it now!!! But don't get me wrong, I found many examples of pure brilliance in Eckhart's book that I really enjoyed and have benefitted from. I also agree with the previous poster that Abraham is not exactly telling you to look to the future all the time...in fact I've always felt that they believe there is no other time that matters but NOW and if you aren't allowing right now, then you are closing off all opportunities for your "rockets of desire" to be recieved by you here in your physical reality. I've actually purchased (but not yet read) Eckhart's book "The power of Now" because I think that one will be much more enjoyable to read and probably more in the same vein as Abraham's teachings and yet will still provide Eckhart's perspective which is different from Abraham's and therefore can add to the diversity of my knowledge.
Even though I did see specific contrasts in viewpoints such as Abraham always saying...reach for a better feeling thought...while Eckhart says that our wanting is causing all of our pain and only driven by our insatiable egos, I think in the end, if Jerry, Esther and Eckhart were to sit down and have a discussion, they would end up agreeing that they have a fairly similar view of life, Love and God. I would compare Eckhart's approach in ANE and Esther and Abraham's overall approach to being like the difference between a creative type of personality and a "techie"/ engineer personality. Both personalities can be loving and provide great inspiration and will generally tell you the same basic truths about life...but each will describe those truths in very different ways and each will prefer to focus more on certain aspects of life and less on others, even though all the aspects exist. THanks for the post!
Hello Elefoof
I have read Eckkart and also Esther and I think they are complementary
My point of view is that in the day to day life you should be enjoying, taking in and live in the present moment. Take time to breath and ground yourself, Eckkart side.
It is also important to create your future using goals, aspiration and law of attraction, as a road map to your life, Esther side.
Law of attraction is a great way to co-create positive changes in your life.
If you like law of attraction (and I am sure you do) listen to Michael Losier on Oprah & Friends (XM156). He is a great teacher of Law of Attraction and every week you get ideas on how to use it in your day to day life.

Tolle points you to the underlying reality (what A-Hicks calls Source Energy). In this realm of unbroken and unchanging "awareness" you'll find your true nature, inner peace, and everything else wisdom teachings 2000+ years old have talked about.
While A-Hicks teach you of the principles of this physical reality, Tolle speaks of in WHAT this physical reality appears. It is just different sides of the same coin. One teaches you how to use the art of creation, the laws of the universe, to consciously participate in the creative process of this changing expreience, while the other teaches you the starting ground of all experience, the changeless background.
Whatever you don't understand, whatever points you want clarification on, articulate it for yourself. Write it down/out if you need to, for there are no questions in this reality that go unanswered.
Blessings on your journeyless journey ~
Yes if you just use the Monkey mind only then you will be confused. Better is to think frm the heart.
There are hundreds of self-improvement, goal setting and positive thinking, wealth generating programs you
may have tried. If you're honest with yourself, they HAVE NEVER YET delivered for you.
You may have been led to believe that you can just lay on your back thinking about stuff and be able to manifest oodles of money, love relationships, new friends, better health, a brand new home etc.
I'm here to tell you that if you do that, nothing will happen.
Yes, you've probably already figured that out and tried it already.
The blueprint for restructuring your life should include practicing those values that bring Peace, Serenity and Inner Abundance, by understanding the purpose of our life on this planet which brings about beauty, harmony and grace.
One needs to apply and follow the cosmic laws. These cosmic laws are not just thoughts or actions, as most self-help books would mislead you to believe. Instead they are connected to the PURITY OF OUR HEART, the Cosmic Antenna capable of receiving and remitting thought waves, faster than the speed of light. Even the Quantum Physics goes so far. Einstein believed that Quanta are not bound to space and time and can exist anywhere. The "Creative Process" is not just thought or work- it has to be backed by the PURITY in your HEART. When you delve on this purity your work is done at quantum speed or the speed faster than the speed of light.
This is not my knowledge. I became a conduit in the hands of an unseen power. All of us are connected to this electro-magnetic field of the heart but a few know how to make this energy flow in our lives, as there are many negative and stressful events that dissipate this energy from our bodies. To understand the essence of all religions.
What good is going to churches, mosques or temples, if it does not create or stir pure bliss? The goal should be to achieve bliss or state of continuous happiness
The rapidly changing social structure in every country is giving way to the void between old dead traditions and the emphasis on material aspects of life. This is hardly soul-satisfying to the new enlightened generation.
All the knowledge, money, talent or education is no good , if you are not connected to the unfathomed abundance from the heart.
The question is how to live a life that is close to your heart or how to achieve heart-centeredness.
The slogan for the new millennium is Follow The Heart. Make your heart your new mind, the one that can repeat without the tongue, hear without the ears and feel and be conscious of it without the mind being involved.
While there are similarities to both, they are in fact different. I used to be into the LOA and have many books on it including the Hicks book and recordings.
