What ALL religious works; what ALL spiritual works, from all over the world through the ages have IN COMMON... what they SHARE

Posted on Jun 4, 2008 10:27 AM

Dearest All, as One,

2 fellow friends of the boards have recently, on separate occaisions, suggested that I/we begin a thread on 1) the comparison of ANE and "A Course in Miracles";

and 2)"A comparison of ANE and Catholisism".

I was uninspired to do either. Comparison's tend to invite "differences"; and differences separate, for they are of the split ego mind - they are most certainly not of God.

I am inspired to begin this thread, titled, "What ALL religious works and what ALL spiritual works, from all over the world, through the ages have IN COMMON....what they ALL SHARE"

Here is an opportunity for us to share what we are personally familiar with and love: - quotes from religious scriptures, spiritual writings, poetry and parables that all teach the same universal message.

Here is a chance to celebrate the Sameness, the Oneness, instead of the differences......Where do the Koran, the Bible, A Course in Mircales, Buddhism, etc, etc, etc all come together?

I am quite excited at the thought of this and look forward to contributions from any of the 1,000's of seemingly "different" sacred writings, in order to celebrate a universal Oneness.

I shall begin with a favourite quote of mine. It contains the word "Christ", which should be understood as the "Light of God" that God placed at the altar within, in every one of us, to join us with one another and God, our Creator, as One. Please, do share the quotes from your religious/ spiritual writings that reflect this same message? Thank you so much!

"The sight of Christ is all there is to see.

The song of Christ is all there is to hear.

The hand of Christ is all there is to hold.

There is no journey but to walk with Him"

(from "A Course in Miracles")

In deepest gratitude and happy in the spirit of universal sharing and understanding,

Shell :x

Hi ja2007,

You are so right that the transformation is really just shedding the layers that cover up the light that is always there. Since the mind in us invented the clouds that block the sun, we can gently blow away those clouds by no longer reinforcing them with belief in the false conceptual identities and labeling.

Peace to you ja2007, Student99 :)

Yes, gently blow away the self made clouds... and don't see "others" as the clouds which are shading... might be they are your own...

Always look for the Sun, then you can't be wrong. The clouds are moving, the Sun is alwyas there... and real.

Find the Sun - in every one.

How simple and how easy to forget. :)

In Gratitude :x

Hi ja2007, :x

Yes, as you said, how simple and how easy to forget. Forgiving eyes see no clouds and they burn away, and then forgiveness is no longer needed to see the sun.

Bless you Student99 :)

It reminds me of the saying from Thomas' gospel "Be passersby"

And so if we continuously renew our faith by letting go of the other's past. We can be like passersby. We can greet with that liberating feeling and be certain we are on the right path.

It is a sense of the past that creates a necessity to make a relationship in my own way. Either to help it (because we're failing!) or hurt it (sarcasm or prodding). But if I do not know how to use empathy, I need to have all of these encounters used for me.

When it says in the course: You do not want anything you value to come of a relationship. It's like we can begin by greeting what IS there. Christ is all there is to see, rather than approaching the new with the anticipation of the past.

So in giving all relationships to Holy Spirit to use for our undoing, this new mind can work greater miracles than our slow time exchange. Because that exchange is based on not knowing what is truly there and seeing our own past in the other.

And so the miracle is as indescriminant Love. Your Brother will answer for you to the degree that you are willing to hear your miracle come from the other. Yes, yes..

My contribution is: Be Passersby.

I love that saying.

Wunlove.

This is an excellent thread! I think it might get deleted, however, because of all the quotes from copy-writed material. I know it's part of Harpo's rules, but I the stuff being quoted here is encouraging, enlightening and full of love.

If that happens I hope all of you will find another way to share this same message, because it's so important.

Won't be back on until tomorrow, thank you for this thread. I was wondering, do all religions teach mankind's fall? Just an observation based on my ignorance, to me, the mystics all teach the same because they are the PHD's of all religionsm those who have gone beyond orthodoxy. Every mystical teacher I have studied has taught KNOW thy Self and all great Beings teach a life of service and all were masters of service to others. I think perhaps because if at the core, our belief is that we have somehow fallen into this mess, then the way out, the route of love is to serve in love in a world that lacks love. So we become the space where love enters....much peace and thanks again...teach only love

Wunlove walks to God in perfect holiness.

Wunlove states the simple truth that makes the thought of sin impossible.

Wunlove promises there is no cause for guilt, and being causeless it does not exist.

Wunlove knows this follows surely from the basic thought that ideas leave not their Source.

This is true.

How can Wunlove be apart from God?

How could Wunlove walk the earth alone and separate from the Source?

Truth is true throughout, because it is true. It can not contradict itself, nor be in parts uncertain and in others sure.

Wunlove can not walk the world apart from God, because Wunlove can not be without Him.

He is what Wunlove's life is.

Where Wunlove is, He is.

There is one life. That Wunlove shares with Him.

Wunlove can not be apart from Him and live.

Where He is, there is holiness as well as life.

No attribute of His remains unshared by everything that lives.

What lives is holy as Himself, because what He shares is part of Holiness, and could be no more sinful than the sun could choose to be of ice; the sea elect to be apart from water, or the grass to grow with roots suspended in the air.

There is a light in Wunlove that can not die; whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of Wunlove.

All things that live bring gifts to Wunlove, and offer them in gratitude and gladness at Wunlove's feet.

The scent of flowers is their gift to Wunlove.

The waves bow down before Wunlove, and the trees extend their arms to shield Wunlove from the heat, and lay their leaves before Wunlove on the ground that may walk in softness, while the wind sinks to a whisper around Wunlove's holy head.

The light in Wunlove is what the universe longs to behold.

All living things are still before Wunlove, for they recognise Who walks with Wunlove.

The light Wunlove carries is their own.

And thus they see in Wunlove their holiness, saluting Wunlove as saviour and as God.

Wunlove accepts our reverence, for it is due Holiness Itself, which walks with Wunlove, transforming in Its gentle light all things unto Its likeness and Its purity.

This is the way salvation works.

As Wunlove steps back, the light in Wunlove steps forward and encompasses the world. It heralds not the end of sin in punishment and death. In lightness and in laughter is sin gone, because its quaint a absurdity is seen. It is a foolish thought, a silly dream, not frightening, ridiculous perhaps, but who would waste an instant in approach to God Himself for such a senseless whim?

The past is gone, with all of its fantasies. They keep Wunlove bound no longer. The approach to God is near. Their is no remaining doubt, Wunlove can not lose sight of her Companion or mistake Him for the senseless, ancient dream that is now past.

Who walks with Wunlove? He walks with Wunlove. And God answers Wunlove!

"Wunlove walks with God in perfect holines.

Wunlove lights the world,

Wunlove lights her mind and all the minds which God created one with Wunlove"

Namaste
