Jenny,
I'm watching your story of your Evan's struggles with Autism as we speak. I am a single 35 year old mom of 4 in Blue Island Illinois ( I know your from the South Side so you know where I am). I have no questions for you but just wanted to show my support and respect of you and Evan. I have a son with Tourettes Syndrome and although nothing like Autism, we had alot of contact with Autistic children while my son was in Easter Seals. I know you know it but it never hurts to hear it. You have been given such a blessing and God only gives the strong one's the children who need extra support. Evan is your gift. Enjoy him. He is hidden in the body of a child who has Autism but that adorable little boy I am sure is happy and has a beautiful personality. Be strong!
Lots of love,
Jennifer

Hi Jenny and Holly!

I'm so excited to watch the show today. My circle of friends has been telling each other all weekend to not forget to watch/tape Oprah today!

I'm a mom of a child with Autism and I'm proud! My son has come a very long way. We've both done alot of hard work over the years. Hard on my part to continue the therapies and the constant repitition. Hard on his part, because I know he tries the hardest he can to continue the schedule I put out for him.

Thank you both for bringing this out into the public and raising awareness. I feel confident someday there will be a cure, or treatment. We have very amazing kids!

Some days I feel like Jenny said, I died inside... but other days, I feel like I can really make a difference.

Thanks to moms like Jenny, Holly and the awesome Toni Braxton, I am thrilled for the future of our children.

All the best and I, for one, will continue to support anything you do!

Jenny and Holly, Thank you for sharing your stories. I am a newlywed, who found love late in my life, I am 38. My biggest concern about having children is the fear about Autism. Do you have any advice for people thinking about becoming parents and what maybe can be done to prevent the onset of the disease. You have opened up a world of hope for so many people. Thank you for that. I wish you much happiness and further success on your "roads to recovery". Thank you J. Miller, Chicago

Jenny/Holly, thank you so much for sharing your stories today. I haven't had my son tested for gluten/casein yet, but plan to. What tests are done to determine if he is susceptible/allergic? Simple blood tests or is it more involved?

Hi Jenny and Holly I have a five month old girl and was very nervous and anxious about the immuniziations as I heard they were linked to autism. I was armed with a lot of literature saying that thimersol was linked to autism in kids and brought it to my pediatrician. She dismissed it saying that all the vaccines are now thimersol free. Is that true? If I decide not to give my child the immuniziations what are my options? Thanks! I'm glad you guys are standing up for this.

Hi Jenny, I'd like to know what your recommendation is for an accurate dx? A child psychologist told me that since my son has the socialization component that he is more likely to just be dev. delayed and possibly MR. He's had biomed intervention to reveal heavy metal toxicity and impaired detoxification, but for learning 'life skills', I'm not sure what path to go down cuz he isn't Autistic...but how many more opinions should I get?? Hope that makes sense. I would like to know how to find a GREAT CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST in the Chicago area. Thanks a lot and I'm sooooo glad you came on the show. Please let me know if I can join your crusade through a website or whatever. I'm as pumped up about vaccines/biomed and diet as you are! ROCK ON!

jenny-

i just want to tell you, i have a whole new respect for you after seeing you on the show. i have watched your movies, and laughed, really hard actually, but i never would have thought listening to you talk about you son would bring me to tears. i am a mom of two small girls 6 and 4, both with their own medical issues. while not the same, i know how it feels to be scared for your baby, worry about the man in your life, try to work, and still have time for you. its so nice to hear other people relating. thank you so much for your story. i bought your book today too!

Hello Jenny & Holly. (Jenny I grew up on South side too - nice to see you!) Thank you for getting this message out there & I am there with you for this fight. I have a 11yo son who has ADHD & PDD-Nos (Aspergers mostly) and completely understand about fighting to get your child the right care, without having those within education wanting to place him with other children who have severe mental disorders. Unfortunately, my son went thru 5 years of hell at a school that caused serious problems for my son & now he is going to a special school so that he can find ways to cope with his problems & eventually get back to regular school. The problem that I am seeing is that these educators want to teach our children as though they are not able to work at the regular pace of other students within their grade level, and want to teach them at a much different level. I am having these issues right now & the school can't get it that my son is in 6th grade & can work at that level and are trying to instruct him using 4th grade material. Their excuse - well he won't be able to work with the rest of the class! He's bright, intelligent, can actually do his grade level work if given the chance & motivation. He just is not always motivated! Then there's the behavior issues that I am dealing with, along with his anger when he's told "no". That bothers me & I can't seem to break thru that. I don't want to loose my son into a world full of anger, bad attitude, possible physical aggression towards others. He's in counseling at CMH but not sure if she's able to get thru either. HELP
Erynn

I have a son that is eight months old. We've asked the Pediatrician to lengthen the amount of time between vaccinations and only give him what is absolutely necessary. Do you have any specific advice or suggestions of what else we could do to protect our son? Thank you for being so open. Jill

Thank you to both of you for stepping up and helping to educate parents all over the world about Autism. Using your "science" to help others understand what is really happening behind the scenes is helping- just look at the most recent CDC statement. Progress is being made and it's because of people like the two of you. I have a seven month old baby girl who is in the midst of getting vaccinated and as an educated Mom, I am very concerned. Jenny, you mentioned that you suspected Evan's autism as a result of the MMR. Could you tell me what you would do if you had it to do all over again. For example, some people believe that if you space them out and not do all 3 than your chances are better or some people recommend waiting until they are older than the recommended age of 12-15 months. Your time and thoughts are appreciated. Kind regards, Nicole Nicole Davis in Chicago, IL
