Hi Oprah,

I also received my cupcakes, Gelato, and dvd's. It was like being at the how all over again. I am sharing some of the food items with a few co-workers and friends. I have read alot of negatives post. Please know that for the most part, we are just ordinary people, we where blessed to have Oprah choose us to share in the favorite things show. So what if they where donated by sponsors. Oprah picked up the taxes on all items for us. Plus she arranged to pay for her crew to come and bless Macon and area businesses with her presence, which was not only costly to get everything here-but her time is very valuable. I have heard stories about some of the needy getting gifts. I work at a high school, I have 4 children, and everyday is a life from paycheck to paycheck. Some of the ladies in the audience needed a new refrigerator and for her to share in a dream of a top of the line, to a community that most only dream of---well it was a blessing that she choose to give us, because we have been loyal as a community. Don't hate the everyday people, and don't hate Oprah. No one is perfect- but hardly anyone gives as much as she does to others!!! OPRAH THANK YOU----

Hey guys...just interested to see how some of you that were in the Macon audience on Nov. 17 are feeling now. I'm still blown away, and unfortunately, all my cupcakes are gone. lol.

i know oprah has a big generosity streak and i admire that ----- BUT!!!! after doing some research, the reason macon, ga. is in front of their t.v set at 4:00 is because, unfortunately, many of these people are out of work.... PLUS,, imagine how many needy and destitute people that kind of money can help right here in our own country..... i admire the generosity, but am deeply saddened by people getting refrigerators, and $59.00 cupcakes thrown at them, when so many people HERE can't even get a meal....

i would be nice and such a blessing to get all the things the audience got in georgia. thank you oprah for a great show.........

Last I checked Macon,Georgia is in the U.S.
Unless you are in another country where there are indeed lots of needy people, but I could have sworn that people have posted her who were recipient are hardworking people, living paycheck to paycheck.

And so what of a little indulgence of a $59.00 cupcake. This is not going to destroy the world. Let someone (literally) eat cake and savor every bite!

I am so glad you all are enjoying yourself and thanks for confirming what most of us knew (not the nay-sayers). You all for the most part of average hardworking everyday tax paying citizens.

Enjoy your treats and have a wonderful life. In some cases I know that there are those who were there will pay it forward.

I am delighted for you all and as a sidebar the fact that Oprah paid all the taxes on those gifts well how kind is that.

But of course the naysayers will find another way to twist this into something bad. unfortunately.

To me I believe the today show was a big blessing to some and to others I believe they were just there getting free things. I watched the show and I can see a stressed and broke person a mile away. That because I'm one also. I cried because I wished I was sitting in one of the seats. Wishing my dream would come true. I'm living with my sister because I was in a car accident and have been in bed 90% of the time. I still have to have a spinal fusion. I lost my place and indepence. My sister is a single mother with 3 kids not making much money. I watched the show today and the refrigerator did it for me. We have a refrig that is barley working. We would like someone to make our dreams come true, because we don't have much, but we always try to make everyone happy around us.

Wow Oprah, I finally have a chance to speak with you. I love your favorite things episodes because you always seem to find gifts that no else would even think of. It's great to be able to speak with you. I would like to say I love watching your show. I'm a 33 year old working mother and student. You inspire me to do better and watching your shows give me a reason to want to do well for myself and my family. I really wanted to know how I could get the earth dvd at an affordable price. I work but I don't make much. Enough to be okay but no where near as much as you. I love that dvd just from seeing clips of it on your show. The sceneries are beautiful, absolutely breath taking. It just goes to show you that The Lord God is Real. No man could create something as gorgeous as that but Him. I'd really love it if I could get the dvd. If you have some ideas please let me know as soon as possible. This was only gift I wanted from your favorite things show this time. Last year I wanted every thing. I don't know when I'll get a chance to travel to Chicago again but when or if I do I'd love to be an audience memeber. To meet you in person would be one of the greatest blessings in my life. Oh, in case I did not say it before, I hope Baracha Bomma makes it into the White House. That would be a major evolvement for us as African Americans in history. P.S. Hi, I just wanted the luck persons that will be on the Oprah show to give her a shout out from me. Tell her that St. Maarten says hi. I know that I will never get to meet her or even have the opportunity to be in the audience. Living in the caribbean does not give you the opportunity to be part of those kind of talk shows. Yes, it's the annual show for the privileged. Since when did talk shows become all about the gifts? I think I'll watch reruns of I Love Lucy.

I am so sorry for what is happening to you, but aren't you fortunate to have a sister who is so generous to give from her necissity as she cares for you to do so! I have to desire to cause you any more stress then you already had and believe you me, I do know what its like to lose your independence and autonomy. It is sometimes more denilitating then the resons which brought you to this point. I want to encourage you to have faith to know that +this to will pass.+ The this is the time you are suffering. Sometimes things are not readily apparent and we do not know nor is it really our business who or who did not "deserve" those gifts. You have a precious gift in a loving sister and for that matter your nieces/nephews who are sharing what they have. I just wanted to make note that you spoke of ones there who were pretty down and out and the ones at the show that had means. But then you closed with God Bless. Isn't that what happened? I've never know our Heavenly Father to bless some and not others! Sometimes it is not maybe readily apparent especially when there is such a need that one could have, but it is what we need at that moment. Believe me I am not saying this as any kind of a put down, just maybe shifting a little to see this differently. The ones who appeared to be of means on the surface, maybe going through far worse then you or I know! I truly hope that things will get better for you and your family. I really mean that.

I loved the show all though I had to miss a few things with grandkids coming in from school and Hubby getting home from work. I know I saw Oprah have a book that she gave to all the audience and I want to know about the title of the book. Can you tell me? The show was awesome but it is that way every year. She has such a big heart and such a lovely woman.

She is HIGHLY FAVORED BY GOD? How do you know that? Because sponsors gave away their products in order to get reduced-cost advertising on her show? Do you realize that Oprah isn't paying for these gifts? She is in the business of producing shows that a lot of people will watch. And A LOT of people watch this show. Being good at promoting yourself doesn't get you into heaven. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior gets you into heaven. Merchandise has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!
