Is hosting a talk show and inviting guests with celebrity status a route for social climbing, publically? Is it in the best of each individual who decides to post a submission to the Oprah, to relinquish their"rights"(?) for

a group of profit sharing media moguls,who use other peoples lives and social situations to gain profit? And,and.. are there actors on "her" show portraying submissions in place of a real one? So to say, someone has a story,its submitted,then Oprah's team utilizes the online agreement,switches the story-dates,and casts the situation. Is that manipulative business practices?
Good Karma? How much money does Oprah recieve for her spiritual journey?
And...does the television care about you more than a computer?

The Holocaust and Slavery are two tragedies in American History and should never be pitted agianst to say one was worse than the other.. I can't beleive someone would even try to compare these two horrific times in our history.

Investigated for what, taking care of a child that no one wanted? As far as "the sickness i harbor" what sickness, i am just sick of turning on the TV or going to a movie it's all about what happened to the black people, it's in the books, shouldn't that be enough? I think it makes the young black children mad and hateful towards white people because of what their great great grandparents had to live with. We are NOT the ones who killed you family's and no one is sweeping anything under the carpet. Just want peace, not hate.

It is nice for fArican Americans to hear and see things like this it is good for our children that are going up these days because there are to many of them today that still think that the white race is more superior than the black race. We have done so many things that have been hidden in the past and it is about time that we let our people know how great we are as well.

I was one of the lucky ones to attend the taping of this show in person in Chicago. We watched this movie the previous evening and then attended the taping the next morning.

The movie is GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTT. The actors..DW, FW and the 3 teens are wonderful. A for sure oscar nomination movie & acting. Don't worry. the little town in texas is mentioned & shown several times in the movie. You will all love it. Go see it on x-mas day.

One of the best shows that you have ever had!! Such God Loving people and the young ones looking up to the older ones. Denzel and Forest being able to give so much to them. Absolutely loved the show.

The way to peace it not paved with deceased bodies on it. Nor is paved with a naive of history. Know history, know yourself. Since you're SICK of history, watch a DVD of "Eyes on the Prize" or maybe the new Brokaw show on 1968. This isn't ancient history it is CURRENT history. Your dumba*s thinks if we sing We Shall Overcome, we do?!? It's not that simple Mr. Thomas (as in Clarence). It is also crucial to not play blame game with victims throughout history. What does that accomplish? Nothing, just, unfortunately like your post. As a child who was adopted, I'm lucky no one in my family ever said that kinda crap about not being wanted. I'd have walked up and kicked their ass. Inspiration is good, but now it is time for motivation and action.

There will never be a day when telling the story of where a 'people' come from should end...be them blacks or Jews. Educating your youth about the past will always build their character and self esteem if taught correctly. History can never be erased so do run from it. It shows where people were, where we are and where we are going. History is nothing to be ashamed of...learn the facts, learn from it and do better!!

I wonder just how well that phrase would really work in any family or situation. "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it". What would have ever changed? Please don't be so sweet.

You should be applauded for at least trying to take care of a child whose folks probably threw him away, but there is some question as to your suitability to properly raise, guide, and nurture a male child of color who will have to contend with thoughts that black people were not really abused and at times deal with the racism and prejudice that will label him suspect and less than just because of his skin. He needs to know ALL history, good and bad, and then he needs to be presented with opportunities to see the strength of resolve in those who look like him and have not allowed the ugly done and still being done to cripple his efforts. Your thoughts of just sweeping the real story of US history the rug will most surely concrete that one day he will be very angry and may begin self destruct and possibly strike out. What agency allowed you to adopt this child without properly screening you? Raising a child from another race of cultural requires more than love from the adopting parent.
