WhyGuy, what you said about those people living in the cave and ridiculing the one who has stepped out and seen the light is exactly what is going on in my life. It's like you SAID IT ALL! WOW I have had some difficulty with people who did not want to believe in LOA b/c they feared it to contradict Islam; when in fact, it totally coincides with it!! I also have my mom who's giving me some trouble in not listening to me when I ask her not to give all her focus and energy on what bothers her. From where I stand, I can see clearly how LOA is working out her life! I just can't figure out why she doesn't agree with me even though there are days when she looks at me and admits: "You're right Hadeel, b/c I fussed about this thing, it's getting worse." Why do you think she doesn't want to admit that all the time? Sometimes she would agree and sometimes not. Weird? Love to you all, DeeL :):)

Welcome deeeel! My name is Elisabeth and I am a proud member of this O Circle. I have trouble posting so I lurk a lot and read what everyone is up to. Every time I try to post, I have to reset my password and sometimes the text box doesn't open so I just give up! I really miss the old format STILL and though some may interpret this as complaining, I'm with Joanne and am speaking out about what I wish for. Glad you started the post this morning dear Deel. Like you I have mentioned to Terry (whyguy), that he needs to write a book. Like a daily inspirational perhaps? Everything he says is so pithy and with an underlying message of hope. Yes he is one that could change the world and guess what he is! Consider this so are you! It starts with each of us and I see this group as one. You are the center of the universe! As am I. We are creators. Imagine that!

Here in this country, there are those who view any message 'different' from theirs, as evil or wrong. These are mostly fundamentalist religions, and some of them are trying to take away everyones basic freedoms too. But from my perspective I can understand and find a place in my heart for suchlike and realize that they are on the same path to transformation as you and I and the whole of this group. But their intention will not work. Too many of us throughout the world are changing from the inside out. Wow what a concept!! Changing on the inside, that is a form of creation, have you ever thought of that!

I wanted to comment on what you said about your Mom.
What if you consider the idea that when she admits what she is creating is that she is poking her head out of her cave and is having a lot of fear. So she stays in her comfort zone. But she is hearing you I feel that. In order to change inside and thus change outside it is necessary to do the hard work of contacting the parts of ourself that keep us trapped in fear. All of us have fear but the opposite of fear is (guess what)? Love! It starts with love, forgiveness and compassion toward ourself and then it becomes a way of life. We always will have to check ourself and know that when we see others who seemingly are mean spirited and yes even violent, that they are persons in very deep pain and consequently very afraid.

I know this too. It is very healing to go back insid e the cave of self to locate that part that is experiencing anger or judgementalness or whatever is considered negitive. So that we can heal it and change it and that is the whole crux of it. It takes a lifetime, or more. And everyone must do it sometime in some lifetime or other!

Thank you Deel for being here in this group. You have brought in quite a breath of fresh perspective and definatly enthusiasam! Patee

Hello Oakdragon, Well you decided to come on over and check in! Great! We are a very loving and when I say love, I mean in the truest sense of the word. Even if we find a point of disagreement, which may I say isn't often, we will never be negitive or condesending. In fact many time I have found myself having a lightbulb moment and totally changing my perspective.

Love of course in found in any positive attribute and we do it as best we can considering we are human and have had eons to learn that it is not always easy. I am one who believes that if we are around a person I view as negitive that gives me a chance to 'practice what I preach' so to speak. Other words as a learning gift to me. We do talk about these issues here but without judgements or anger. At least we do it the best we can.
I love everyone here. We have been together for a lot of months and have definatly evolved. There are a few new people. Like Deel and a woman from Australia, a young girl in Arizonia, (orig Hawaii), and now you. Like someone said a few weeks ago. Throw your oars in the water and go with the flow!! Welcome,,,Patee

Hey everybody, I want to take this time, to introduce Oakdragon. I found Oakdragon on another Spirit board. He was very patienly and painstakinly talking to a person who was to say the least, intolerant and judgemental about his belief. I found Oakdragon to be so knowing and articulate, one who is not afraid to 'prove' and look into matters and able to say it with authority and love. Well, like us! He is unique, like we are, each in our own way. He is also very well read like us, and spiritual and open, like we are. without mentioning where we are on the O I invited him over and so he is here. By the way I am assuming you are are he, Oakdragon, forgive my error if I am wrong!

Hello everyone! Patee, I've never considered thinking of my mom as "stepping out of her cave"; it's true. In Canfield's book that I've been reading he states that many do not achieve their goals and do not actually move on to the next level in their lives b/c they're so fearful of stepping out of their "comfort zone". That comfort zone is created by all the negative images and thoughts one forms in order NOT to alter their lives fearing they might RISK something. Thank you Patee! I just had a light-bulb moment I like what you said that every one of us is unique in their own kind of way And you're mostly welcome on my joining the group, Patee, but hey, don't thank me, I THANK YOU ALL FOR WELCOMING ME! Yes dear Deel, your Mom is a part of the LOA, she is responding to her soul and taking a peek now and again!

In answer to your question about Namaste. It is a way of saying "the God in me salutes the God in you" I have forgotten the source of the word, perhaps someone else may be able to to expound on that. I believe that there are also other ways to translate the word, but that is the one I seem to remember at this moment. And I think it is quite beautiful because it speaks of love and recognition that we are all the same, whatever we believe about the Universe. the Universe is a wise, and intelligent source of love, and as part of that source we connect.

OK - here's my dilemma. Deeel - you put it so perfectly about your mom foucusing on what she doesn't want and it just keeps expanding. Despite my knowledge of and belief in LOA - I find myself doing the same damn thing. I keep trying to find the positive in this move - there must be something - somewhere. All I can see is how I hate giving up my own space - I can't stand the idea of living with someone who is a total slob (and pretty much likes it that way) - of living in an area I don't even like, that's even further away from where most of the jobs are. Yes, there is the financial aspect, but until I get a ful-time job I won't see any real benefits of that. With the distance I'll have to drive to my part-time job - the gas alone will eat up all I make. I know that this way of thinking is not good ---- I'm only going to create a worse situation than already exists. I need a symbol - some kind of visual image - so that when the bad thoughts start coming in and I start getting all upset - I can just picture this image and it will bring me back to a place of peace and gratitude so I can stop focusing on how negative this whole situation is. Anyone got any ideas for a good, positive visual image? I can't come up with a thing.
