Luke 22:10, the Age of Aquarius, a new way to break bread

Posted on Mar 27, 2008 11:15 AM

There have been so many exchanges about the nature of this teaching and in particular how it does or does not line up with the teachings of Jesus. The New Age began with the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, some astrologers believe this occurred in 1962. The symbol for this sign is a man pouring forth water, he's referred to as the water bearer. In Luke 22:10 the disciples ask Jesus where they should prepare the Passover Feast, he tells them to look for the man carrying a water pot, he will show you to the room where the last supper will take place (I'm paraphrasing). The first act Jesus performs in the upper room, is to take that water and wash their feet.

I would like to suggest that we have now entered into an Age where the water bearer is pouring forth, and a new wave of consciousness is sweeping the earth. Jesus, is standing in the upper room waiting to wash the feet of anyone who is willing to come to the table. Those who are being awakened by the teachings in this book, are finding themselves at the Passover Feast, a passover from an old way of doing religion to a new, more vibrant truth. Jesus then takes us to the cross and shows us what it means to crucify the ego, the flesh, the part of us that wants to keep us so divided against one another; he prays that we all might be one, that we might know our oneness with the author of creation as well as with each other.

This is what is meant by the new covenant, a new way of relating, of loving, of breaking bread, drinking wine and remembering the path He prepared for us to follow.......The New Earth!

Bless you Lord for your faithfulness.

Yes, peace and joy are here now if we join in. The fight ends within. Ego dies, true self can live. Love and peace to you. This is the age. Now is the time. PS Oprah is an Aquarius. Water flows freely as does the true spirit- the spirit we all share. If we did not "label" it it would still be so - truth (truth cannot be "owned", just known). Peace and love to you.

Thankyou for asking and interacting with me about a study of religion and being a good Christian.

I clicked you name in the upper left hand corner to see if I could find you.

I wanted to tell you that your words are very soothing.

Iam aquarian and Iam not aquarian Iam. So it goes in the exercises for chapter 7.

I have been 'seeing that image you wrote about' behind my eye lids for a very long time.

Along with some others.

A basket of fruit that when it overflows what falls from it's brim is an array of flowers from all over the world.

Iam seeing these message boards as a new way to break bread.

Yes, as a little girl you came face to face with Truth. In every encounter with Truth the ego tries to assimilate itself to it, in a sense the ego tries to own it. You can see this so clearly in the character of Peter from the Gospel accounts. In the light of this Truth there can be no duality, no one is better than anyone else, no one is worse than anyone else.....although the ego wants to constantly create that division......you know, it likes the drama, the competition, the striving.

You saw the light today as an adult and it's a little scary becasue it is challenging you to dis-identify with the ego...... if you let it go, you'll live in that light forever, but it's not easy and yet it is soooo simple.

I'm off to the park with my five year old....I'll check back in later.

You know I have been thinking the same thing all through out these boards.

Whose Iam is better than the next one or any of the ones before?

That being said.

You are so lucky to have a five year old to hang out with!

You're right I've had two to hang out with today.....thank you!

There's been a change of plan and she has gone off to play at a friend's house.....so I'm back!

Okay. The basket of fruit yields flowers, the flowers yield seed, the seed yields trees, the tree yields fruit....and so on..

This is what came to mind when you described the basket of fruit over flowing with flowers:-

Luke 6:37-42 :-

Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured unto you.
