He was speaking about abortion today and he said that he didn't want his daughters to be in a situation where they are punished with a baby. Ok, I get that some people think that it is ok to slaughter little unborn babies because they refuse to take responsibility for their actions or look into adoption, but this is a faith based man. Did he miss the sermon when God said I knew you before you were born, and doesn't he believe that life is a miracle? News flash it is not a punishment to the mother to be, but a miracle. The punishment remains with the poison injected or brain extracted baby. Wow that is twisted.

If he truly said that, man, I am more troubled and icked out by this man than ever. Yes, just suck it out and act like it never happened. Like this little life meant absolutely nothing. And Obama is all up on his high horse talking about Iraq and all the lives lost? And these are men and women who VOLUNTEER for that dangerous job? An innocent baby is just that. Completely innocent and didn't ask to become a life.
I suppose he would also be ok with killing a real old person because he wouldn't want their adult child to be "punished" with having to care for them? UGH UGH UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I love Jesus with all my heart and I know my bible. If my 13 year old daughter got raped and was pregnant as a result of that rape, I have to be honest with you...I definately would be looking into a abortion. So call me what you want but I dang sure would be conisdering it.

He passed a bill on abortion so that underaged girls did not need permission from anyone to have an abortion. What if his daughters put this vote to the test?

And if babies are punishment can people start taking legal action? Because it could be considered cruel and unusual punishment? Good point about old people because I have a feeling I will be taking care of my mom in 30 years and I hope I am capable of doing so.

Can you quote the source for that speech as I would like to read it. Did he mention anything about birth control?.
I do know that he was the only senator that voted against the Baby Alive Act which was a bill that would save an infants life, should he/she survive a botched abortion and not be left on a shelf to strave to death and die. Michelle Obama gave several fund raisers and teas to help him in defeat of this bill.

I could not believe that when I heard it. If he doesn't want his daughters, or anyone else's daughter, to be "punished with a baby" then perhaps Obama and other parents need to start teaching their children, when they are young that they should not be having sex unless they are ready to take on the responsibility of a baby. Personal responsibility....what a concept! I don't believe in using abortion as a form of birth control and that is what most women are doing. I find his statement completly unacceptable. Of course, I am sure Obama is AGAINST the death penalty.

Yes. I bet rapes constitute a small minority of abortions. I used to post on an abortion web site and it seems today most women have abortions for their own convenience. It has become a type of birth control and it is extremely troubling.
And Obama is so pro abortion that he even voted against a bill that would give medical aid and comfort to late term aborted babies who survive. So who's being punished there? This man is heartless.

When a woman is raped and taken to the hospital, measures are taken to prevent the pregnancy.
The number of babies born from rape is small. The majority of babies born
to out of wedlock teens is from reckless and irresponsible sex.

While I beleive woman are the only ones that can chose for themselves... and I don't believe that government has a right to tell you what to do with your body...nevertheless I find the process of abortion after a fetus is recognizable life... While it is a mass of dividing cells it is not offensive to me that women make those decisons for themselves....
Obama has patterned of speaking with J. Wrights mouth-itis... and that is why his assertion that he is not influenced by the man... it total BS.
No rape victim child or adult should be forced to carry out a pregnancy.
THAT IS THE REASON WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO PROMOTE THE MORNING AFTER PILL.

Agree rape is a different matter, but rape is rarely the reason a woman gets an abortion.
Many years ago, I had a friend who got pregnant. She was not married, had a very successful career, and could not be bothered with a baby. She would not even consider adoption, but she was ready to abort her baby in a heartbeat! Her response to me when I brought up adoption. "I would rather abort my baby, before I'd give it up to another woman to raise."

If ONLY the women who were rapped were the ones using these options but the truth is many women just get careless and know they can use an abortion or morning after pill kill the baby. There is a heart beat at 21 days in this "mass of dividing cells" so yes it is a person. If you believe the government cant tell you what to do with your body then why is it illegal to commit suicide?
