Seeing all of the vegtable that will be talked about on Monday, see what Dr. Oz thinks about this diet for someone like me who has IBS. Thanks, I really enjoy the doctor shows. Glenda in Altoona, PA

It's times like this I wish I had TV!

I usuallly have to read about the Oprah shows on the "net" or drop by my Mom's house to watch it!

I hope this show offers more video on line - and Oprah's website offers more on-line videos of show segments in the future??????(Hint Hint)

I am one of the "working poor" and had to give up on TV - satellitte/cable over four years ago! It was eat or watch TV- I picked eat.

But as I got on the scales today...maybe a starvation diet wouldn't have been a bad idea and have TV and the Oprah Show???? (smirk - at 5 feet - one inch at 200 lbs.)

Can't wait to check in Monday night on the website to see what happens?
Hope to find inspiration and see the 100 pound weightloss feature.

Cheers!
Mini

HI Valpomom4,

"Eat, Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert" was the book Oprah mentioned to the audience member. Thank you for asking. :)

7. Does the Candida Cleanse work??
Sep 17, 2007 2:12 PM   |   In response to: harpobear

Just watched the show. I love when Dr. oz is on. :) I'm currently on my 5th day of a Candida Cleanse (kill off) that a Naturopath put me on. I have to take Bentonite, Physillium Powder and Caproyl Oil with water every morning, acidolphylus
capsules with supper and 3 vitamin c capsules throughout the day. Pretty much can only eat Veggies(no starchy ones), lean fresh meat, and some nuts, eggs and rice/kamut pasta. Abosutely no sugar but a small apple a day. I have to do all this for 21 days. So far it's painful!!
Just wondering if this is the kind of detox diet he is talking about that shows no result. Or if it is meant for people just eating a raw diet with no extras to take( ei Physillium, caproyl oi, etc..). Is the fever, nausea, and aches worth doing this Candida cleanse or should I stop now and just switch to eating better which I know I can do after doing this for 5 days.

It's called "Eat, Pray, and Love". It's ok - a lot of meditation.

Bob Greene needs to sync up with Dr Oz on food recommendations- I can't tell you how many times I've picked up a product with Bob Greene's The Best Life logo on it and when I read the ingredients it has either/or/both high fructose corn syrup + partially hydrated fill in the blank oil.

Awesome show today!! I learned a lot of valuable information. I am currently on Atkins to try to shed 100lbs, but I have to say that Dr. Oz made a lot of sense to me. Not sure which way to turn at the moment...lol
Also, just wondering about peanut butter? Is it something good that can be included in healthy eating?

Thanks

i hate to disagree with Dr. Oz but not all yellow & orange tomatoes are unripe red ones. There are Golden Jubilee & Lemon Boy, intentionally NOT red tomatoes. i do not know if there is any research about them but they are supposed to be lower in acid than red tomatoes.

as an ulcer sufferer with possible GERD, & a bunch of newly diagnosed gallstones that are wreaking havoc on me, the less acid the better. am also anemic & must take iron with vitamin C rather than certain juices because of the acid problem.

it also seemed that Bob Greene was contradicting all that Dr Oz had said re: fresh fruits, vegetables & fish. Too confusing. Bob Greene should stick to exercise & let the good dr speak to what he has been trained to know.

As soon as I heard about the importance of calcium in your diet and saw that 6-1/2 pounds of fat, I went straight to the frig and got a yogurt!! I eat one nearly every day, but maybe I need to need more. The mgs are not stated on the package.

The book Oprah mentioned to help that woman de-stress is "Eat, Pray, Love", but unfortunately I didn't get the author's name. Most likely you can find it under that title on Amazon.
