Preaching never got anywhere but putting fear in people. You can't scare someone into believing in God. Who wants to live like that? I believe in God, was raised Catholic and all that and I am using this book to get myself closer to God. By opening my mind to other possibilities in getting close to him. There is more than one way to get to God. There are millions of possiblities if you just open your eyes and be at peace. I know he loves me. As I meditate I pray, as I'm getting frustrated or angry I stop and say ok now God don't let my ego run me over again. Another warning, this book will open your mind. Don't be scared of it

Eckhart talked about " Those of us who feel superior are really masking our inferiority".

I say I no longer want to engage with anyone that is flying a battle flag. Should we be surprised that we are all triggered from these message boards ? I guess the work is then to let it go and find peace in the NOW. We have been a reactive world so I think it will take baby steps to get there.

I come from a background that practices Native spirituality. One of the teachings is to leave your moccassins outside the long house where thay perform Sacred ceremonies. If you bring it in , you will become closed to any divine expereince.

Moccassins: your ego/issues/judgements/negativity
Long House: place of spiritual practice

I am trying to focus on this place : MESSAGE BOARDS as one of those places. I see myself getting triggered so I sign-out and come back when I have bare feet.

The Lord wants us to be kind to others...Eckhart Tolle included. We can listen to his message and decide how it fits in with the Bible. He never claimed to be a prophet. He is just a man that is paying attention and being conscious...AWAKE...as the Lord has commanded us to be in his Word. "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fullfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our slavation nearer than when we believed."

THIS statement is absolutely correct . NO BOOK ...including the bible. This book brings me peace.This is a fact.
Can u not allow others to have peace in whatever form it comes to them in?
I accept that the bible is the form that brings u to peace (sort of)- u di=on't really seem at peace with this board or this book

The problem with asking people to be kind here is that it's quite possible that there are some Christians whose beliefs tell them that Mr. Tolle could very well be a direct incarnation of Satan. And who would want to be kind to Satan? So do you see how extremely clouded the vision could get?

What is the answer to all of this contention?

The answer is that everyone should just let go...No one is going to change anyones beliefs on here so why feed our ego's in order to fulfill theirs? That's about it.

Warning...the preaching on this thread may cause others to NEVER step foot in a church again.
